Yea she specified pretty much right after I posted the initial question. I thought I was going to have to actually think of what to get her - little did I know she already had multiple carts of favorite options going.
I should be inheriting my late grandfather's 1962 Omega Pinspotter 300, which he won for bowling a perfect game Spoiler
Yeah, went down a rabbit hole researching the watch & uncovered the article regarding my grandfather. Additional backstory: My grandfather was great friends with Dick Weber (Bowling Hall of Fame) & planned to join the pro-bowling tour with him... My Grandmother had other ideas. She threatened to leave him, if he joined & the rest is history. She maintained that she wasn't bluffing, when I asked her years later.
Man - how big is the Bob's Watches marketing budget? Did one search and now it's the only advertisements I see. And that's considering this is the same timeline I've looked at truck options for days on end.
Who in here owns a Blue BB58? My AD ordered the wrong Tudor NATO strap... I can connect you, if interested. I think they are like $160.
Will be at least twice what I was expecting to pay for the Daytona but she works her ass off and that watch fucks.
Wise decision. The 5327 absolutely fucks. I'd pay that all day long over the inflated Daytona market. The white gold is pure class, too.
Thinking of picking up an Everest band for the milgauss. I don’t want to steal the deployant every time I switch it up, anyone know where to get a Rolex or good aftermarket deployant?
At this stage it’s not something I’d purchase, but pics don’t do this watch justice. Tudor knocked it out of the park with the latest update
How's their availability? I've seen tons of BB58s in stores since purchasing mine (I'm fairly certain anyone can walk in and buy one at this point.)
Keep getting ads for this JLC “event”. Think I may drop by, could be interesting. https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/us/en/chronicles/the-sound-maker-nyc.html
Sold my rose gold SD. Felt like prices were too absurd not to and I did not feel comfortable wearing the watch around Houston. I may find an older cartier tank on a leather strap to sport with my suits now.
Todd Beamers watch that was recovered from the flight 93 crash Spoiler Todd Beamer was an account manager for the Oracle Corporation. He died at age 32 in the September 11, 2001 attacks on board United Airlines Flight 93. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Beamer, two sons, David and Drew, and a daughter, Morgan Kay, who was born on January 9, 2002 . nearly four months after her father's death. Todd and other passengers had been in communication with people via in-plane and cell phones and learned that the World Trade Center had been attacked using hijacked airplanes. Beamer tried to place a credit card call through a phone located on the back of a plane seat but was routed to a customer-service representative instead, who passed him on to supervisor Lisa Jefferson. Beamer reported that one passenger was killed and, later, that a flight attendant had told him the pilot and co-pilot had been forced from the cockpit and may have been wounded. He was also on the phone when the plane made its turn in a southeasterly direction, a move that had him briefly panicking. Later, he told the operator that some of the plane's passengers were planning "jump on" the hijackers. According to Jefferson, Beamer's last audible words were "Are you guys ready? Let's roll." This term would later become the war cry for those fighting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.
Got put on a list for a black dial Daytona and the jubilee bracelet Pepsi and Batman GMT. Friend’s dad owns the place. That won’t put me at the top of the list, but helps for all 3 and the store gets good inventory.
I always liked this in theory because I love steel watches and it has a cool bracelet. Tried it on in store and just didn’t like it. Something about the fit and look on the wrist just seemed off. But I do love that dial. It’s new right?
So the white face comes with the steel bracelet and a brown leather strap. The graphite face comes with the steel and that black rubber bracelet with the rivets (it’s a fantastic rubber band continuing the lines from the bezel.) Im not sure if it’s new but I tried it on and loved it… so tempted.
I love how it looks. And the graphite is awesome. I’ll give it another shot years from now after I cross a few more steel ones off my list. If you like it, you should get it. Pretty reasonably priced too. Lifetime list is to add the nautilus 5711, VC blue overseas, speedmaster, and another Rolex or 2. Think the Santos would fall after those for me.
All of those would be cool, but this is one that I could actually obtain. I’m unwilling to pay secondary.
Which leads me to ask, should I just buy this one used? Edit - just found it cheaper online than in the Cartier stores here in Vegas
