A friend of mine knows a lot of the pros really well and says Bubba is one of the best dudes on tour (others similarly high up as being "good dudes" are Speith, Carlos Ortiz, Kevin Kisner, and Rickie). In general, it seems like the majority of pros are total jerks, which most people in this thread know
Every pro I’ve been around has been an asshat Spoiler Ive only been around 1 Spoiler It was Tiger Spoiler I’m kidding. I was around Keegan too. He seemed nice. Also CH3 and Wolff were very nice. As was Dahmen. And one of the Ping players but I’m forgetting his name at the moment.
Inverness looking amazing this morning and the greens are nice and firm. Funny how they let the women play on such firm greens when they’re hitting longer clubs in yet they have to be nice and soft for the men’s wedge fests
That story he told at the Open about his club foot was interesting. Hes a pretty thoughtful, heady dude despite how big of a hoss he is.
Weird not seeing Jessica yesterday afternoon or again this morning with Nelly. Nelly getting waxed this morning seems personal after the issue on her putt yesterday afternoon
Sure, but something like that being the point difference in the match seems like it’d still affect her. She looks like she could use the afternoon off regardless
Oh I see what you mean. Yeah she could be emotionally drained for sure. Thought you meant like Euro team had it in for her or something like that.
I think both can be going on. Euros doing the whole MJ “I took that personally” even though it was self-inflicted. Also, it’s a good thing Salas is in the fourth match, can’t risk getting the pace car out early. She’s brutally slow
Confused around Bubba's role....did they ask him to be there and be like a consultant or something? Happy to see him supporting them regardless, just wondering what his role is or how that all came to be.
Earlier in the week it sounded like he came out on his own but I was thrown off when I saw he had a headset too. Now must be some sort of unofficial assistant
He’s been volunteering to help at Ryder Cups however he could once he played in one and stopped making teams. Super patriotic given his dad’s military service. Imagine he’s doing the same for the women now. Sounds like he’s taking on whatever odd job he can.
Played Spanish Bay today and it was a delightful walk. Some of the holes try a little too hard to copy the links style rolls but overall it was an enjoyable round
Nah, wife’s best friend lives here as her husband is at NPS. Also played Del Monte because we stay at that Hyatt. I considered Poppy but my ask for our next trip would be for her to spend basically a full day with her friend so I can get up to Pasa
Did you like the course? I'm playing a Pro-Am there in December. Think it is Pebble, Spyglass, Spanish and Poppy. I haven't played Spanish or Poppy before.
It was a fun course but it definitely lacks the pop of the others. You’ll want to be sure you have the pin positions, some of the greens have some severe tiers. Fairways are all nice and wide with the exception of a couple and because of the length of the course there’s plenty of hybrid-length tee shots. Ignoring green fees, I would rather play it over Spy but that’s more because Spy likes to kick your teeth in repeatedly. Spanish is pretty straightforward but I think it can still challenge decent players, especially with club selection and wind
Came the closest I ever have to a hole in one yesterday. 185 out. Hit in front of the pin, bounced, and hit the stick at the cup. Tried uploading the pic but it won’t let me from my phone. Guys on the tee box next to the green were cheering when we pulled up.
Anyone else turned off by the NLU throating of the women's shit? Constant complaining about lack of TV coverage compared to the PGA...I enjoy watching all golf but let's not kid ourselves about what pays the bills. It doesn't have to be a competition. I think NLU's asses are a little chapped they don't have more traction with the PGA tour.
Agreed...but they gripes go way beyond the Solheim Cup. Every weekend they complain about LPGA coverage getting moved to the Golf channel or some shit. It's getting old.
Starting to feel like the NLU guys jumped the shark. They are extremely popular and they know it. I prefer the guest interviews over all other content. Randy still rules but the rest all have huge heads.
Talkin about women too much smh nevermind the fact they talk about the Ryder cup pretty much every episode so far this year
I've been really bothered by NLU, but I watched a shit ton of the Solheim because of them always talking about it so they got me in this wknd anyway. I still wont watch anything outside of their majors on cool courses and the Solheim though. I can say that the PGA tour changed the date of the Tour Championship and it originally wasnt supposed to be the same wknd as the Solheim. You can thank Covid for that. Also, I did find it odd that they would have commercials for the Tour Championship while I was watching the Solheim. Basically saying for people to not forget to turn the channel when that comes on. I was most bothered with all their takes and anti American sentiment throughout the wknd on the Solheim.
Tour Net Championship is lame I don't think prioritizing a USGA event that is team match play at an elite course is a huge ask. I also don't think the women's game needs to be covered with the "Everything is awesome!" tone it sometimes is. If you want to show equality cover it with the same critical eye you do the men's game.
I don't hate them at all but I did find it interesting on Sunday in that I was watching the final round of the Tour Championship and not a mention of it from their social media coming down the stretch. Again, if they don't care then I don't want them to force it but yeah they do tend to give off a douchey vibe like they don't understand how anyone can not love women's golf. The only one of them I wouldn't be mad if he wasn't there is Tron.
