Spoiler I don't really have any feelings of liking or disliking it either way. It was just a movie I saw and will probably never watch again. I don't know if it would have made the movie better, but they could have made that movie without Awkwafina's character in it and it wouldn't have been worse. There's no point to her being in the movie. I'm going to need someone to explain what the hell happened with the first end credits scene with Bruce.
spoiler free thoughts: First act was solid but hampered a bit by some very clunky exposition and line delivery. Second act was really slow, really dark (not like moody, but the lighting was really dark/excessive night time stuff that didn't let the scenery pop), and little more than long exposition dumps Third act was amazing. Did stuff not yet seen in a Marvel movie, similar to the big "whole new world" jump that the first GOTG brought. It wasn't a perfect debut but there's a lot of potential there and Shang Chi will be a great character going forward. In that sense it's a lot like the Dr. Strange movie.
Liked it. Didn’t love it. Nice origin movie, dragged a little. The fight scenes were awesome. Mid credit gave me goosebumps.
Spoiler kinda racist to make Wong the MCU character to connect the franchise to the MCU It was highly predictable that the sister took the dad’s place seeing she organized a Fight Club.
Spoiler The hero always needs a love interest Tony - Pepper Steve - Peggy Thor - Natalie Portman Strange - Rachel McAdams its Marvel Comics 101
Not incredible, but enjoyed it a lot. Simu Liu is fantastic casting and he’s got Chris Hemsworth esque comedic acting chops. He’ll fit awesome in the Avengers. Fight sequences are phenomenal. Morris is going to move a lot of merchandise. Final act is fucking great.
first and 2nd acts were legit and enjoyable, Spoiler even if the whole "im actually a trained assassin who settles for a mediocre life being a valet" makes 0 sense. Loved macau fight club in particular. And the 3rd act started out great. I loved the camera work of the final climatic fight (pre monsters out of gate). But im sorry, everything after that monster burst out of the gate took me out of the movie. shitty CGI extravaganza ruining what was otherwise a solid to great kung fu movie.
Excellent origin story. Humor was well-done without being cloying. After the mid-credits scene, I feel like the rings have the possibility of having a much darker part to play. Spoiler Were those the Widows training in the courtyard at the end-credits scene?
Yeah, my guess is they make them Celestial. What all did they say again? They match no earth metals, they’re much older than 1000 years, they’re no known alien tech, and when he put them on they sent a signal to outer space but they have no idea where it went? In the comics don’t the rings come from Fin Fang Foom’s planet? I don’t see them going that route.
Gotta think that’s the tie in to bring the Defenders into the MCU. Haven’t they got their rights back now?
I know I am not fully Asian and don’t really look it but it definitely impacted me seeing an Asian superhero. I know we have Wong but he’s a sidekick that doesn’t get a lot of screen time. Asian leads in a superhero movie. It made me tear up a little
They did a real good job of stitching that in. I thought it’d be a 2 min cameo not a whole movie thing. He was good.
What's the story on Banner going to be after the first post-credits scene? Did Ruffalo just tell them after End Game he'll only come back if he's Bruce and not wearing that stupid CGI stuff anymore?
Solid film fight choreography and cinematography was superb. Some fun one liners Tony Leung is phenomenal and always has been. story is simple but great debut for the character. Is Wong and Strange preparing for something? With the post credit scene and won’t abomination, seems like secret wars maybe? No clue but feels like there is more there
Saves CGI budget. One theory I saw was that if the She-Hulk origin is a crazy emergency blood transfusion it’s a lot easier for Banner to donate blood than Prof Hulk.
Saw the movie this afternoon. Thought the fight scenes were great. Also wasn’t sure how I’d like Shang-chi since I hadn’t heard of him before but really liked the character.
going to say it’s She Hulk related maybe..comics he gives a blood transfusion to Jennifer Walters and maybe this makes him return to normal?
Spoiler Kingsley was amazing I actually like Awkwafinas character, was worried about her going in but she wasn’t over the top
