I listened the other day for a few minutes. Talking about his super chat feature or whatever. Some dude gave like $500. Not sure which one of you…
Had to go back and check myself and it was $500. His comment was that now he can pay for things like a photographer for the FSU game. Reinvests all the money into to show. Around the 2 min mark. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/irish-breakdown/id1485286986?i=1000533439468
I like how on Coach D's site he posts 'insider recruiting info' but he does like podcasts for 6 hours each day and writes a meandering 20,000 word column pretty much every day and has zero access to the program. So he just is straight up logging on to rivals and just copy and pasting their recruiting stuff, cool dude
spent a solid 10 min trying to make that my avatar yesterday but the formatting/ratio wasn't cooperating.
The game from a pure entertainment standpoint was incredible but from a ND standpoint, it was all over the place Really enjoyed the way Coan was calm in the pocket for the most part and delivered some great throws to his pass catchers. Prister harped on it repeatedly, he was 10 for 10 when throwing to the RBs and that screen was perfectly executed to Kyren (great playcall by Rees on that). We all know that Book would have messed that play up by panicking and throwing an uncatchable ball there. His pass to Kevin Austin for the TD was very impressive as well. The Dline would incredible in the first half from a pressure standpoint. The whole team needs to tackle better and I think they will. The run game was bad but I do believe there is real credence to BK saying the oline was not firing off the ball together because they were off w/ the silent count. On the awful sack that Carmody gave up, that's exactly what it looked like happened. That's stuff that will happen to guys playing together for the first time in a crazy environment. Again, all things that they can clean up. In the end, ND won and that's most important. They have 2 full games to get things cleaned up w/o worrying about having to lose. All of those guys can get really good game experience.
This is why I’m not that worried. Take away two plays and they gained like 300 yards even with the second half. There were plays missed that hopefully they make as the season goes on. The OL issues are scary right now, but the defense doesn’t worry me that much. There are some fixable things
both? I don’t understand how anyone who has followed this team for the past 25 years isn’t worried after that second half performance against FSU.
normally I’d agree but this seems quite different in that it was a deliberate coaching choice and not a lack of talent, skill or personnel. Those mistakes seem to be openly acknowledged and (hopefully) should be addressed
The most worrisome part of Sunday night is that it quickly brought back memories of Michigan and Texas games past where you knew damn well we were the better team, but it was completely inevitable that we would blow it because we always did in those situations. The good news is we’re seemingly beyond losing those games. The bad news is we’re still not totally past those games either.
1) Bad coaching choices are more worrying than bad execution 2) OL sucking was not a deliberate choice, and now our starting LT needs knee surgery 3) All the missed tackles were also not coaching choices
Nah, there’s enough shit going on in the world to make me sad and angry. I’m choosing to find joy until game days.
Like I said, literally everything sucks right now in the world, and you guys are putting yourselves in a position where you cant be happy. If they blow out Toledo or Purdue, then you find no joy because that's what's supposed to happen. If either games aren't perfect, you nitpick everything that wasn't perfect. I've spent three years of Ian Book taking away my joy with watching ND football. I'm ready to love again.
Is anyone sad or angry in here? I'm pretty sure they are just talking about the football team and like it or not the football team has a track record of playing shitty teams close.
To be clear I don’t think we lose to either Toledo or Purdue just that they may be a bit painful to get through
You had me until the bolded where this turns into the pot calling the kettle black. The last three years were the best stretch for the program since the early 90's and Book had a significant hand in that.
But for me his frustrating play took away everything fun. I’ve said it before that watching him was a chore that made me scream at my tv. I’m just trying not to do that anymore.
i understand what Beeds07 meant. Sure it was a successful stretch but it was such a tease since book was holding this team back from greatness or even just competing with the best programs. it wasn’t even his fault but it was frustrating often.
Who says I don’t? Kelly is more to blame than Book. It’s not Books fault he sucked, it’s on Kelly for not bringing in guys good enough to beat out an awful QB
You just pm'ed me and told me that you thought it was all Book's fault, you can't have it both ways. I deleted the message because I was so disgusted.
that would fucking blow. Marist, bothello and Fischer not playing this year would be so shitty. So much for depth, it takes just a few bad breaks and it’s gone.
Driskell confirmed Diggs was absolutely Covid. He thinks Botelho, and maybe even C’Bo, are getting the 4 game suspension treatment.
