It’s not a very trusting company when it comes to technology. Our department’s billing manager works from home but she’s not allowed to print at home since she could print patient information.
Enough for him to hire his own Assistant and stop asking my wife to schedule all of his things and handle his expense reports.
Just got a pre-emotive OOO email (they are out starting 9/1) from someone who hasn’t even responded to my only ever correspondence with them.
Had a director send out a company wide announcement congratulating two people in her department who received promotions. Four people then decided to Reply All to that saying "Great job!" Fantastic stuff.
I like it when the person responsible for recognizing department birthdays sends an email to the entire department wishing them a happy birthday, which is fine, but then everyone has to do reply all. I came back from lunch today with 16 fucking emails wishing the person a happy birthday.
Vaccination will be required to report to work in a few weeks. Oh Jesus Christ the reply-alls from the crazies
LOL, did the dumbass who sent out the email actually not use BCC or something to prevent idiots from starting a reply-all chain? Hopefully everyone of those assholes gets canned. What kind of company do you work for?
Public sector. Usually these sorts of emails are basically automated and no-reply. I have no idea how this happened
Legit want to be updated later about this with how many of these inbreds get canned. Hope they have their lives ruined, fuck them.
The language they're currently using is "separated." It would be difficult to tell who got the boot because of how segmented things are but people talk I guess Also within this chain, the crazies were basically trying to organize a lawsuit to avoid getting vaxxed on our internal email . That seems like a bad idea
We have a site call every week with Slido used for anonymous comments and questions. Corporate announced that all employees will be required to fill out a survey on first if you are willing to disclose your vaccination status, and what that status is if you are. The comments were pretty spicy this week with HIPPA and every other mask/vaccination theory that have existed.
Don't know where else to put this... Have a partner attorney that absolutely loves his job. Is on every committee, spends every second of his free time volunteering and trying to shape city and count policy -- think he's pretty politically driven. I did not like the guy initialy, but have come to learn this is just his personality. He's a super nice guy (he's a Mormon originally from Utah), just has no real hobbies besides the practice of law and civic work. Not my lane, but if he likes it, who am I to judge? Him and his wife had their first kid 4 days ago. Yesterday, he was back in the office, firing off emails. My partner (who I very much dislike) has sent him a bunch of emails, giving him "a week or so, I know you just had a kid," and he responded to all within 24 hours. WA has the most progressive parental leave policy in the US -- can take up to 12 weeks off. I'm just kind of at a loss for words.
Here are the comments from today after the vaccination survey was sent out: Top one: Proof of vaccine/papers sounds like old Russia or Germany Spoiler Why does the vaccine survey not ask about prior infection? Natural immunity is very robust. That should be included in decision making. Is he vacc survey not a HIPA or discrimination laws violation? Will we consider any guidance outside the CDC for C19 policies? Many nations with more success differ from our CDC. FLA gov made treatment centers w/o CDC. Why does the company want the PCR test when the CDC says to stop using it by the end of this year due to inaccuracies How many times will we pay a person out on quarantine for COVID exposure? Is there a set # of times per employee? Does vacc status matter You don’t have to judge medical facts on prior infections causing equal immunity to vaccines. That’s already a proven fact by many studies The vaccines only try to mimic what our body does from natural infection. Why would we push natural immune people to get artificial crap that our body can do The vaccine survey has the individual agree to future actions depending on how you answer. Why would we agree to terms we don’t know? Is the survey incomplete A lot of people will make the decision to QUIT if we start mandating medical procedures to people of a free country Is the company going to take another personal day from us to observe Juneteenth? Management is wrong. It has been well documented that you can still catch and spread the virus. This is a personal safety vaccine. I think the vaccinated are the super spreaders being that it only helps with the symptoms. So if vaccinated, you can be carrying it and not realize. Having the vaccine does not mean you can’t spread COVID any less than someone that doesn’t.
Look forward to hearing about many of them losing their jobs when hopefully your company institute a vaccine policy.
Fingers crossed. My guess is the company will start by going the bonus for getting vaccine route though.

* New director hired in april 2021, taking over from old director * Director: Seems like you're very qualified. Im going to work to ensure you're promoted to Sr. Manager within the next few months. Me: Sweet. Director: Can you take on more work? Me: Sure. Director: Im going to have you double-time a whole different product category in addition to what you're currently on. Me: Cool. ... Me: Been a few months so I thought id checkin on the sr manager thing... Director: Soon. * Director hires new Sr manager with less experience than me * * Sr Manager completely ignores all the good work i did before July 2021, starts condescending to me, takes over my categories and starts making changes without consulting w/ me first* .... Sr Manager: Let's go over some things you can improve on. ... Me: I'm leaving. Director and Sr Manager:
I was in the bathroom earlier today and hear some rustling coming out of the far stall. Coworker answers the phone talking on speakerphone while he is taking a shit
Not as good this week. I did reply to the first one with a list of all medicines tested on HEK 293 and they just said, yeah, but those were tested after the medicine developed. Pfizer and moderna used HEK 293 cell line in testing and J&J used PER.C6. Does the company support my religious objections to vax developed using aborted fetal cells? Why was the question regarding aborted baby cells for vax deleted?? Will my religious beliefs be accepted as exemption? What will CLT's stance be? What can we expect the enterprise to do in response to the recent presidential mandate requiring vaccines as a condition of employment? Is Biden's loss of patience with vaccinations demands on companies over 100 employees. Is that constitutional? Children are required to show proof of vaccination before attending kindergarten. Please stop making this out to be a dramatic issue. When are we going to stop being scared of Joe Biden? Can we do a weight loss mandate? Obesity is a big factor to heart disease. If health and safety is our main concern.
My job sent out an intranet blast basically saying that they ain’t doin’ shit about the vax/test orders until they are absolutely forced so don’t worry about it. I know we have unvaxxed people going in every single day as a sort of fucked up statement and I’m pretty sure our CEO is antivax.
Sounds alot like my company. We have no mask mandates even if unvaccinated. We have no vaccine mandates, obviously. We do "self reporting" for any/all sicknesses. If someone does test positive, or has symptoms, they are simply sent home and the people around them are told. No one else in the office is alerted even though the entire office shares the same 2 bathrooms and lunchrooms, and there is only 1 ice machine everyone uses. Our CEO is pretty hardcore on having people in the office so that he can "see faces in the hallways", no other reasons. Being forced to be in the office and then for them to treat it like its nothing serious has been a personal challenge for me. Oh, then I also got told by my boss last week (who is remote himself) that it seems I just come into the office and shut my door. The reason we are in is to work together and communicate. Its also important to note that not a single one of my team or meetings are in person, both my bosses are remote and everything is just virtual. Its a gigantic shit show.
In a meeting called Salesforce Process Updates. No info other than it’s to discuss changes to the process. Background: we’ve been moving into salesforce for all of our stuff from individual spreadsheets/locations and multiple systems. Centralizing data into one spot is TOO CONFUSING (?!!!??!!!!)so we’re rolling back to a hodgepodge of random shit. Fuck this. Sure, that worked when there were 100 employees and 200 clients. We’ve doubled staff and increased clients 7x. This is not sustainable. Fuck. /vent rant
I'm currently on a call and there was just a "in my professional opinion" off. Both guys dropped a "in my professional opinion" and a "well in my xx years of experience." Heated on a Thursday morning meeting! Edit: I should’ve used “an” prior to the “in my professional…” line, right? Damnit.
This shit happens all the fucking time if employees had access to capital to start there own companies operations like this would get smoked so fast Fortunately for management everyone is swamped in debt
Luckily like 90% of the people on the call told them to sit down and figure out how to integrate their shit instead of blowing it up for everyone else. The CFO (who I think I’ve mentioned before is a POS Re: COVID) and uw team don’t want to leave their bloated and often wrong excel workbooks for pricing clients.
Do you just set up reminders to follow up? I try and knock them out as soon as possible. If I don't feel like wrking on something, or know I don't have the focus to finish, I just flag it and it automatically reminds me the next day. Problem is, by Friday I usually have 10+ emails I didn't feel like responding to. Good news is, most emails are asking me stupid quesitons or for permission to do something when I give everyone full autonomy. I just send out, "You still need XXX?" Then I flag it for the next week.
I use unread emails in my inbox as a to-do list, so I rarely need to flag for follow ups. When I start getting a lot of things piling up, that's when I set reminders. Other times, I email myself a list of things to do and attach the relevant emails (that would otherwise be sitting in my inbox as unread). This reminds me that I should probably acknowledge some emails that I haven't opened
Someone telling me I need to go to a meeting where the only thing I need out of it could be told to me in a short email.
this morning someone started a groupchat with the 5 managers in my division just saying "calling all my managers". very foreboding. i watched as every person typed something then deleted it. you get the ... then nothing. 4 hours later the person who started the groupchat sends a 6 paragraph message with bullet points and links and shit. i marked it unread, gonna worry about it tomorrow.
The team I work on has about 6 people, all doing different things. It used to be two people until recently. Expanded because the company has grown its business by a lot. Everyone still wants to have their own say over each person’s piece and make all decisions as a group. I can’t deal with that bullshit. ‘We need to over-communicate’ and trying to put each other on blast in a group setting. People have a meltdown and see it as a personal attack when I talk 1:1 or remove unnecessary people from cc. Efficiency is suffering and nobody can get out of the way of doing things correctly. They’d rather feel nice than let the work get done as best as possible.
My boss just mentioned PTO in our team touch base to remind everyone to pretty much burn the time they can’t roll over. Nobody has really felt ok taking a solid week off this year and someone brought it up. It was basically a shaming session for wanting to take our time off and how we didn’t take enough time off before Q4, even though we were under pressure to not take more than a day or two at a time all year. Shitty day at a shitty job. Venting.
Vented to a coworker today about this. I mentioned in the jobs thread about my old boss here and how great he was. Well he kept an entire dept off of our asses. They’d go to their manager and he’d go to our boss and our boss would handle it and reach out to us if needed. Now that he’s gone we have that entire department breathing down our necks about everything. It’s what made a job I enjoyed miserable now to the point I want to quit over it. It’s not just me either. They’re doing it to all of us and it’s bugging my coworkers as well. It’s not like they have any superiority over us but goddamn, do they love to cc their boss on everything they say to us and it’s always condescending af.
I had to explain to a coworker today how the tax system works. He's up for progression to the next level tech and other coworkers were telling him his take home pay was going to be less because he will be in the next tax bracket.
