They're lining up and willing to pay the new market rent. Demographics are favorable to landlords ITP and setting new records for sales in a compressed cap rate environment every week.

Did they accept anything other than vax cards? I seem to have misplaced my in the move but I do have a picture of my card following my first dose and two emailed receipts from Northside showing the dates administered, the batch number and the providers. I’m gonna keep searching for my card but I wonder if they’ll accept my emails from Northside.

Not 100% sure (I brought a hard copy of mine), but my understanding is all that would work. Esp the Northside documentation.

Anyone been to Aziza or Lyla Lila? Taking a friend and his fiance out for their wedding since we can't make it to their wedding in Utah. They just moved here, so I'd like to take them somewhere nice. We were going to take them to Georgia Boy, but it's closed and the Southern Belle tasting menu/experience not nearly as good. We just went to Lazy Betty, so that's out (delicious btw, and the menu is being updated in 2 weeks), and they've been to some of the steakhouses, so I'm steering clear of those.

Right now, the leaders in the clubhouse are Gunshow, Bacchanalia, and Miller Union. Are there any other restaurants with tasting menus that are on par with these other restaurants?

Where can I get brunch/Bloody Mary’s tomorrow without getting too far away from the dome? Atkins Park is my normal go-to, but it’s apparently closed on Monday.

Tough one because I don’t know what places will be like tomorrow. If you usually start in VaHi then maybe Folk Art is a solid choice for bloodies, but make sure they are open on Labor Day.

Maybe also look into Ladybird? Nice patio and should be open. Hampton and Hudson is one of the bigger sports bars in that area (it’s within walking distance of both), and they might have a small crowd in the afternoon before gametime if you’re trying to pregame away from the Benz. It’s also worth noting that if you go this route, you’ll be super close to a Marta station which is a 4 or 5 stop ride directly to the stadium.

These are all a decent ways from the dome but Hampton and Hudson is one of my favorites. If you want walking distance to stadium Park Bar is not really brunch but a good pregame spot.

Probably doing one of Gins options then migrating to Park Bar is your ideal game day move.

Folk Art for brunch and Hampton + Hudson for day drinking. Both worked perfectly. Our hotel rooms at the Omni weren't ready until 5:00, so we went back to shower/change around 6:00 and just went to the sports bar there before going to the dome.

Hey all! Wife and I are in early stages of planning to relocate to Atlanta from Austin sometime in mid-2022. We have a two year old and are open to suburbs OTP, preferably north, given the majority of our friends are everywhere from Sandy Springs to Milton.

I work remotely and will be flying out of Hartsfield ~1 week a month so plan will be to drive from wherever we live and park at one of the Sandy Springs MARTA stations and take the Red Line to the airport.

Know the market is insane right now but have heard great things about Alpharetta/Roswell/Milton but open to other areas as well. TIA

I think Roswell is the best OTP community, but it’s a pain to get in/out of because of GA 400/285 (which I guess applies to pretty much all of them.) Nice downtown/square, good restaurants, great brewery, etc. Housing market is probably a bit higher than other OTP communities but it still shouldn’t be too bad.

That said, live ITP if you can.

Have heard from locals that ITP has become a bit 'sketchier' in the past year or so but what neighborhoods would be worth looking at if we did check it out. I'd imagine Brookhaven/Decatur?

Those locals are pussies. If you don’t want to be at the forefront of improving a neighborhood then avoid most of southwest Atlanta, unless you can get in West End. Everywhere else should be fine.

It’s a major metropolitan area, so there’s going to be crime but I don’t think anyone ITT has ever felt unsafe. If you’ve previously lived in big cities, it’s no different in terms of just being smart and not putting yourself in potentially dangerous situations.

Like any major metropolitan city, there’s crime. But Atlanta is getting the 2016 election Chicago treatment right now and it might shock you to learn that those responsible for said narrative have an ulterior motive.

The AJC will post “Man killed on interstate” with no details that goes viral then a week later sneak in an update that the occupants of the vehicle knew each other and there was a motive behind it. But the OTPers and out-of-towners have already run with the idea that people are just getting shot from other cars on their commutes.

A lot of my friends live otp and the further out that they live, the more sure they are that Atlanta will “implode on itself in 10 years.”

All fair points. I grew up in a large city with a similar narrative so I take what the say with a grain of salt.

Traffic up that way is horrifying. Have you looked at Marietta? People seem to really like that area.

I live otp south and have zero fear going into the city. A little common sense goes a long way.

Wife and I spent the weekend staying with family in Alpharetta. Originally going to MMJ but it got cancelled. Decided to make a date night since we already had child care lined up. Hit up Variant and then Monkey 68 is Roswell. That's a really nice area. Spent Saturday in downtown Alpharetta at market and Jekyll Brewing and had a blast with some friends who live nearby. Aunt we stayed with lives just 2 miles away. We scoped out some houses and neighborhoods around there, Roswell, and East Cobb/Indian Hills. May plan a move there sometime next year too - depending on how a few jobs dominos fall.

Only downside was driving around on weekend. Would like to get a good idea of weekday traffic, but we'll both probably work from home and kids should be in schools/daycare close by.

Weekday traffic on 400S(am)/400N(pm) might be the worst in the entire metro area, especially with the 285 interchange project with seemingly no end in sight.

What tend to be the major hours for congestion? We are looking at a school for my son down in Sandy Springs/Dunwoody and I've mapped it at about 20 minutes each way around 8 am and then at 4 pm
