This shit is so disheartening for a number of reasons. Hoping against hope that elections and new council members can put a stop to this farce.
Southeast ITP has a lot of undeveloped land. Lots of creeks, forests, and a small river. The city owns an old, really old prison labor farm, and wants to hand it to the Cops for a training facility. There are some movie production lots down there. Think its close to the Dolls Head Trail. Also have the South River Trail too. But otherwise, that is a frontier for huge economic/residential growth. The City/Taxpayers could make a huge profit over any undeveloped land. Its a terrible use of land in an urban core. And also a question of its utility to boot.
The destruction of 85 acres of near-old growth forest outside of the city instead of expanding/renovating existing facilities. Lying about performing an environmental impact assessment for the site. Creating a facility that will be bigger than NYPD and LAPD’s combined, further militarizing the police force. Catering to the whiny and pathetic city of Buckhead crowd and not the overall city populace. I could go in, but those are the Cliff’s. Fran Tarkenton gave a good summation as well, per usual.
When i started on night shift we were still living in buckhead at the time. I worked at Northside up in cumming. I’d leave for work at 5pm and get there at 6:55pm. Coming home in the mornings at 730am I’d get home around 930 or so. May have fallen asleep on 400 once or twice in traffic. Probably best for my life that was the last month of our lease in Buckhead and we moved off Abernathy in Sandy Springs this was also like 3 years ago before they really ramped up construction on the new interchange
Fran Tarkenton whats the food situation like around The Eastern. I gotta be at this place at 4:30 for my VIP experience and I’m worried I might brown out if my blood sugar gets too low.
The rooftop there is solid. Its a take on Vietnamese food iirc. And they have table service after you place your order with a big video screen showing the openers. Wonderkid is your other on-site option, Grindhouse, Girl Diver. Idk if Muchacho opened back up, theyve been doing extensive renovations there to make it beltline-centric mexican.
Second time having it now, but Justacos popup in JenChan’s in Cabbage Town is actually really good. Would recommend.
Favorite museums and historic type stuff in town? High Museum of Art is top of my list but wondering what else you guys like
Anyone ever go go Atlantic station? This looks good. https://atlanta.eater.com/platform/...cano-ristorante-italiano-open-midtown-atlanta
Had H&F burger at the stadium this week. It's a bastard version but still pretty damn good. Also had antico and it's always great. Finally got a mano for lunch today. Spaghetti and meatballs were great. As advertised.
For the people that have been to the Eastern....how did you feel about being that close to so many people??? I want to go to a show this weekend, but fuck idk about those crowd. Negative Test/Vaccine be damned
I would not go if thats a concern for you. You would not have peace of mind before, during, or after.

something I experienced last night that was new to me (but had read about) = Covid sniffing German Shepherds. Made for a longer line and I was skeptical of it. Dog did not screen anyone that I noticed. But he for sure found weed.
Same, we might have been at the same show. I didn't see anyone get sniffed out either, but I guess they would have walked them over to the nearby tent for a rapid test if so?
I've been and went to the Philly place. It was just ok. I'd try something else or just eat at the massive new fox brothers.
Spent the last few days in town for a wedding. Ate lunches at Torched Hop and West End Brewing, both good. Went to the secret speakeasy downtown. Stayed at an air bnb in Mozley Park. House next door to us was abandoned with no back door on it and we saw a guy crawling out of there
I love when TC comes to town bc I love hearing about the places he stays that I would never think to myself. “Hey guys, just left town. Stayed at the undertaker’s shack at Westview Cemetery. Ate at Hal’s and Rathbun Steak.”
