I think he's gonna be really good in college, but it's felt like he has been looking for reasons to not go to Clemson or Bama for awhile now. Florida State, Texas and Miami all flip flop with the lead seemingly, especially the former two. Seems like FSU's WR pitch is likely to win out. The most potent tool in TE recruiting, but the most volatile with the existence of the portal.
Justice Finkley's committing Thursday. There doesn't seem to be an overly confident pick out there, but very realistic chance he ends up at Texas or Colorado. Wants to start pre-med (mom's a doctor, he wants to be a neurosurgeon).
We all know the Pole Assassin was the real closer here. Good get for the horns, though. Comes from probably the second best HS in the state in terms of producing next level talent.
I would like for us to pull Enai White at the final hour in a shocking turn of events. Our mods will claim we were always in it and they were sitting on it the whole time. lol, go Bojangle.
Some rumors coming out from the FSU ND game about Skinner. Mostly on his behavior afterwards from reading around. On FSU site has gone so far to say that it's likely FSU moves on, but isn't giving specifics. Seems odd bc Skinner spoke so highly of the visit. That being said, with our new president coming from Harvard which officially makes us Harvard of the south, we can no longer tolerate rumored issues such as these as we are now above them. Looks like we had to pull his offer. Good luck to him at other schools.
The word was our staff didn't think the talent was worth the attitude but he is a 17 yr old kid so things can change. His handlers though are giving that kid a huge ego
This screams a recruitment that Sark would win and then the Texas fanbase pounds their chest over it without realizing all of the big boys passed on him just like Jaray Bledsoe
Disregard what I said. Finkley to Texas likely changed the plans, and he's apparently back on track to put up video game numbers this season. They seem less hung up on Perry being 6'2 all of the sudden.
Mack used to have 20+ commits with 10 in top 100, you have 21 commits and 0 in top 100 Congrats on Harbaugh level recruiting
Mack had to recruit against a shitty A&M and OU for top recruits in Texas. That was 20 years ago. We barely had a top 20 class last year. This is a very good class and we’re still in on a handful of elite guys. After being a mediocre program for 10 years. Get off your Ohio State high horse where only a top 3 class with 4-5 5 stars even registers as a decent class. The reality is you love the idea that we’ll continue sucking so you can continue to pick off elite Texas guys. We’ll see how that dynamic has changed in 5 years.
To be fair here, Sark is an amazing QB recruiter. Other than that... during his time at Washington, USC, and Bama, the consensus seemed to be he fucking hated that part of the job. Maybe he's changed his view on it, but it seems like the assistants are doing the legwork. The excitement around the program and the success he creates for it is his credit, though. He's going to get him a QB on a yearly basis, regardless. Dude goes all out for 'his' guy.
Yeah that would be a big blow to what we've got going right now. A lot of people on our side have been getting excited about Perry
Davis, Banks, Kwiatkowski and it sounds like Gideon is getting some momentum, too. I'm finding a way to put Rashaad Samples on the staff after this season if I'm him before somebody else snatches him up.
I don't think it is a guarantee. Like you mentioned, he's apparently close with the guy that transferred to you guys and I'm sure he's a little scorned over us not taking his commitment, but I'll be honest, I never understood why were so hung up on his height. 173 tackles/58 TFL/15 sacks as a Jr in 6A, with his film? Idgaf if he is 6' even and shaped like a potato, he can play.
