Really solid, spooky, crawling kind of film. It reminded me of RELIC a bit (at least in pace and atmosphere)
Oh I highly suggest getting Paramount + because they finally added a proper horror selection and there are some great old horror films available now
I just signed up for a free trial. Was hoping it’d have all the Friday the 13ths but sadly there are none
Don’t despair, take advantage of the amazing Joe Bob Briggs content and all the old Italian horror on there
I believe they are on Hulu. Like Beer Belly said, wander around some, there is fantastic stuff all over on there.
Weird. I have Hulu and use a family member’s Starz login and I swear I couldn’t find any of them for free. Will check again tonight.
Joe Bob Briggs is amazing. The little stories and tangents he goes off into are hilarious and it’s staggering how much random movie info he has packed in his brain.
Finally got around to watching THE EMPTY MAN. What a solid, strange, special film. It feels like an A24 film
Anyone else seen Old yet? Saw it this morning. Deeply flawed movie which is a shame because it could have been one of MNS's absolute best with a tighter script and some better performances by some of the cast. I wanted to slap a few of them - there was more wood in this than a John Holmes flick.
I watched #Alive last night on Netflix. Neat little Korean zombie movie about a guy surrounded by zombies in his apartment building.
Solid flick. A bit too drawn out at times but a well constructed concept. Spoiler: Empty Man Didn't like the CGI manifestation near the end
Starting Train to Busan now. Trying to go through the thread and get a bunch of recommendations. Laid up on the couch post op and I never get to watch horror movies with wife and kid.
It sucked to me as a fan of the Saw series. Chris Rock's acting was really weird to me for some reason.
Anyone watched the Slasher anthology series? On Netflix but I believe Shudder originally produced it?
Not sure where else to post, but I’m caught up on the tv show Evil. While it’s nothing amazing, it’s good enough and I enjoy the premise. Can watch on paramount +
New series from the Haunting of Hill House/Bly Manor folks coming out this fall. It's called Midnight Mass.
Candyman reviews seem pretty positive so far. Gonna go see it next Tuesday. Will go in with low expectations.
That’s kinda disappointing. Reviews I’ve seen have been pretty up and down. Hoping Malignant delivers.
Getting my seasonal horror movie binge started early this year. Going to stick with ones I haven’t seen or haven’t seen in a long time Just finished Alien, now starting The Strangers
Let us know how it is. I don’t have HBO, so I may go see it in the theaters. I was pumped for a Candyman then it got meh reviews, so I’m hoping this delivers.
I was really disappointed by it (Candyman). Poor pacing, zero scares & too much off-screen killing. The social commentary was over the top too, but probably the least of this movie's problems.
The Blackwell Ghost is on Amazon Prime, only 60 minutes. Was an interesting watch. Apparently there are four sequels as well, but looks like they are only available as rentals
I thought it did a really good job creating a sense of horror on a really low budget production. Was considerably better than that dumbass Malignant movie.
