Well that sucks... There's still short clips on youtube, but the complete shows were taken down. The videos were from all camera angles including on stage, not some guy with a cellphone so I assumed they were official... Archive.org at least has the audio... Brokedown Palace still up...
Today’s my birthday. I’m sitting on the beach listening to some Europe ‘72, doing sudoku, and drinking beers. Being old is so awesome.
Love me the band, but just not big on Dead Co. Of course I’ll go see them because well it’s still a variation, but just not my thing. Not bad really, but just doesn’t get me grooving enough Love tons of dead spin off stuff like JRAD, Dark Star and Melvin Seals JGB stuff, but the last is more Jerry Garcia Band
Was listening to big Steve talk about group sex last week on Xm. “You could just tell by their smell if the two of you were compatible”
Always wondered how Merle Haggard felt about the Dead covering Mama Tried. I was in my 30’s before I knew it was a Haggard song.
At some point don't they start running out of good shows to release? I mean it seems like after years of stuff and curated things like the Dick's Picks that they would've released their better live shows..
Dead and Co. sent an email to ticket holders yesterday that all guests will be required to show a vaccine card or a Covid test with 48 hours to enter the Cincinnati show on 9/11. Not sure if this is venue specific or for the entire tour.
Jeez, just saw Bobby's post about this. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/macon/name/leah-barlow-obituary?pid=199746093
yes. whole tour. my buddy lives in Cincinnati and just scored a last minute ticket due to 1 of 2 ticketed friends not being vax’d.
I’m going with three college room mates. We rented a place for the weekend. We’ll catch Ohio State-Oregon at noon and then head to the show. W’re staying on the hill above Riverbend.
Considering seeing them in San Diego in October but I feel like it’s either going to get cancelled or be a super spreader event
May or may not have mentioned it in here, but a buddy gave me an external HD with every Jerry Garcia show that circulated as of 2017. Below is a screenshot of the shows from 1974. If anyone is interested in doing a B&P, PM me. Happy to share
Awesome. Thanks. I think I’ve got both versions of Workingman’s Dead and American Beauty that Apple Music has available. Haven’t seen Europe 72 yet.
I saw Dead and Company last night at Riverbend in Cincinnati. The show was packed, full capacity and no one sat the entire show. I came away very impressed with Chimenti on keyboards. It was Mickey Hart’s birthday, he’s 78.
It’s going to be interesting to me to see what they do when Weir finally stops. Mayer and Chimenti were great this show.
cue the "stick to guitar" posts. To be clear, they used to play Black Panther and SDS benefits. They've always been political.
What in the world would lead anyone to believe that the Grateful Dead were anything but progressives?
