Any recs for things to do in Boulder for a group of approx. 10 Gopher fans heading there for the game on the 18th and spending the weekend? Primarily interested in bars, restaurants, unique places to hangout, and weed-related info. Thanks in advance!
I'm flying out with a group of Gophers on Friday. Planning on Avanti for dinner Friday night on Pearl Street. The Pearl Street Stampede starts around 7 I believe (band, cheerleaders, team all walking down the mall). From there just visiting my old drinking haunts, Pearl Street Pub, Attic, and... that looks like it as the town has changed a ton since I left. Definitely hit up The Sink on The Hill at some point Saturday. There's tons to eat, drink and do in town and most of it is walk able. Have fun!
I like Shenault, but next man up should be fine. Miller -- hope it is nothing, but let's be honest we should probably be starting someone else even when he comes back. We need to find a replacement immediately because there is no point in starting someone to play 2 games a year. Right side of line will be interesting. Robert Barnes is who I will be watching.
I really did not mind it, but honestly I don't trust the OL to open the same hole twice in this game. I am in the minority on that one, but I think the issue right now is players getting beat not playcall being shitty.
I take it all back Cornfed Buffalo and I am sorry for stating otherwise. What a fucking joke of a 2nd half. Still don't trust Lewis, but it does not matter one should be able to cobble together another 7-10 points that game.
We’re going to find out how much Chiv loves CU. does he take a demotion back to where he belongs or walk? Not like he’s gonna get another OC job. Also, I legit have wanted to throw up since the game ended.
#Minnesota Golden Gophers Thoughts on this week? Cliffs on CU: Defense is playing lights out so far Offense is a sputtering mess
I feel like this game would be better played in a blizzard where we both run the ball 90% of the time.
Honestly not sure what to expect. We hung with Ohio State well into the 3rd quarter until our best player (RB Ibrahim) tore his Achilles. Then we turn around and play like dogshit against Miami(OH). Not sure if it was a hangover or just PJ's normal vanilla garbage against G5 opponents, but it wasn't good. Strength of our team is Oline for sure. Our backup RBs are okay, but the success of the run game is due to the Oline. Our QB is solid and won't lose games for us, but he isn't spectacular either. We should get our WR1 back from injury this weekend, and that should be a huge lift. Our defense is trash - it's not even worth going into detail on them.
We are the opposite so I’m not sure what to expect. I’ll fly in Thursday. Any food, bar, brewery recommendations?
Our front 7 vs your OL is going to be fun to watch. And who knows what our offense will do. Plenty of talent. Issues seem to be play calling/questionable OL. However we may have our assumed Starters at OL all back this week for the first time this season. I'd take the unders and drink heavily.
Denver Thursday night then driving to Boulder on Friday. Staying at a Residence Inn near campus in Boulder.
You're in a good spot for all of these breakfast spots: - The Buff - Le Peep - The Village Coffee Shop Can walk to all 3. Also, Lucille's. Lunch: - The Sink - kind of a campus landmark. Ceiling height is low. I'd skip if you're tall. - The Rio - food is ok, but the view from the rooftop is tough to beat - The Dark Horse - former employer of jbr - West End Tavern Dinner - Frasca or Mateo if you want something classier - Salt - Oak - Bramble and Hare Most spots at Pearl St are solid. If they're not, they're out of business rather quickly with how expensive rent is. Be sure to do a hike up the Flatirons, or at least drive a car up Baseline to get a view.
Whatever you do, Rabid …don’t eat anything at the Dark Horse. CUgator is trying to poison you. But do eat Village Coffee Shop breakfast on Sunday to soak Saturday up.
The wings were the only thing that was any good as non-student food, but even that was hit or miss. If the owner needed to cut costs, he would order these shitty tiny frozen drummettes/flats. If he had a good month then we got fresh large whole wings.
Viska never got in trouble once and Vontae just can't string together more than a few months without a fuck up.
