American religiousness has, like most things, become extremely atomized. Every emphasis on "a personal relationships with god" isnt even remotely grounded in anything besides personal feelings. No introspection, no education, no careful thought. So what ends up happening? These people treat their intuition or even their dumb whims as literal guidance from the Lord. Now they're all literal agents of God, because he clearly told them that this is....satanic socialism hiding the kids being victimized by sex trafficking, or whatever garbage they knit together trying to justify why they're correct

was randomly reading about lead exposure and its slow-moving effects while some rain made its way through my area. almost bumped this thread and got the shitshow going again. Dangerous levels of lead and then social media algorithm brain melting in the 2nd half of their life..I'll just shoutout all the boomers and anyone exposed to high levels of lead who generally keep it together over the years.

this is a weird reply that has nothing to do with the exchange and what I was referring to. But, yes I do. I been overly cautious because of my kids and grandson. Even when la got rd of the mask mandate I continued to wear one. I do everything I can to stay safe and keep everyone I love healthy and safe. I do everything I can to make sure I don’t get anyone else sick.
