My guess is that your pharmacy wasn't contracted with your insurance. You would have to call your plan to find out where it would be covered
Ah gotcha did they at least offer to use a discount card that a third party has given them. Our cash price is 48 for regular dose 96 for senior dose. We have some discount cards that take about 10 to 20 bucks off the shot
Tried to get one yesterday while I was at urgent care for a covid test. Was told that they aren’t giving them out until next week :/
If only people were as mad at insurance companies for withholding life saving medications through financial manipulation to make a profit while literally inventing nothing useful for humanity as they are at pharma for needing to get paid for actually inventing them.
Annual reminder that if you don't get your flu shot you're probably a huge idiot or a self-professed libertarian who doesn't think gov't should besoil our freedoms with age of consent laws
Is this the ideal time to get it? Usually I guess I just get it whenever I see it being advertised at the pharmacy so don’t really take note of when. Always seemed like it was closer to mid-October though.
no idea where you pulled that from. But I stand by it (just got done with a War and Tower of Power concert two weeks ago that my dad was super amped about). Bavmordakillthemall.gif Probably the last time I’ll enjoy a show with my old man. He’s definitely showing Alzheimer’s. Fucking kill me when it comes to that point, because it’s honestly difficult shit to contend with. Edit: Thought this was the 90s thread
Yeah just get it when you can. There was always some handwringing about waning efficacy late in the flu season if you got it too early, but I think that concern was more theoretical than anything, never a very important consideratioon. And our viral season timing is so completely fucked right now that influenza could just show up any day. Which would be really, really bad right now.
Funny thing is, I think I've gotten the flu shot once in my life before this year But after all the shit of the past two years, I've been fully vaxed for covid, will get any boosters they offer for years to come, and now I think I will be sure and get the regular flu vaccine every year too.
I have gotten one every year since then. Will get one of the nurses at work to give me the shot whenever we get the vaccine in stock.
I always try to push it to October because the end of season always seems worse than the beginning here. So I want the immunity to last
got mine yesterday at work. I get the flu shot every year. Never understood anyone’s opposition to it.
Im the same. In talking to coworkers who wouldn’t get it I think it was as simple as not liking needles.
gonna get my first one this year even tho i am still immune for the next 5 years since i had it february 2020
My former company used to offer them at work. It was nice. Just started a new job and idk if they offer it but planning on getting it next month at my physical
I had to get it in college because I worked at a hospital and I’d always get it if they had them available at work but I’ve missed it by just being lazy. I’ve only had the flu once and it sucked but yes I’m definitely getting it. Looking back I was no better than the covidiots and thought “well I’ve never had the flu so what’s the point in getting the flu shot?” Fucking moronic.
Got my flu shot the same day as I got my Pfizer booster a few weeks ago. Only time I have ever had any type of reaction to a shot. It was about 15 hours later I was pretty lethargic and a slight fever but was gone 5 hours later.
My doc said it was fine. My wife is immune compromised so since I never have had any reaction to shots he said to try it. I flew to a conference in San Diego last week and she felt better if I had them two weeks out. My wife got her booster and flu show a week a part.
