yes I watch the weather so I am familiar with that. I don't follow recruiting and was unaware that FutureCase was being used in this manner
well, we're 3-0 playing for the Texas state championship really don't know how good we are based on the teams we've already played. I do know we are light years better than we have been. I'm old and after the end of Bert and Chud I think ruined me at ever being confident going into a game. That said if I had to bet with GK's money I think we cover
Example, between then and now. Coming out at the half Texas scores and looked good doing it. Before Sam the hogs would folded and given up. Now, we'll get back out there and get it back. Also, how fucking old is Jerry's grandson? Seems like he's been up there forever
Love how the lines are playing on both sides of the ball. We dodged some bullets against Ga Southern in the passing game with some over/under throws. Scheme was to stop the option and make them beat us through the air. Outside of one missed tackle in the backfield that turned into their track star QB getting loose, they couldn’t do shit. Rice game made me a little nervous, but we looked a lot better in the 2nd half and carried that momentum into Texas where we just dominated in all facets. There’s a lot of pride with this group that wants to be the ones to turn this program into something, and they’re doing it. Next step is ending the drought against Aggie. Do that and we’re a top ~10 team headed into Georgia game. It’s fun following a football team with a pulse again, with a coaching staff who you can really fall in love with in Pittman and Odom. Briles still sucks imo but it is what it is. We’ve got a lot of young guys contributing on offense, and we’ve got a lot of talent and depth behind our experienced guys on D. First time in ages we’ve had quality depth up and down the depth chart in idk how long. I absolutely love Sam Pittman and what he’s brought to our program. I love Muss and what he’s brought to our program, and I absolutely love how all our guys are working together to push our brand to a national level. It’s been a fun year or so for Arkansas athletics and it’s just going to keep getting better. Basketball recruiting about to have a big few weeks.
Also I am not sure what to think about Norvell at FSU. I thought he would for sure get things moving. Looks like he is not getting it done in Tallahassee.
Loved hearing Pittman say he would rather the game be in Fayetteville edit. if this is correct https://fbschedules.com/ncaa-2025/team/arkansas 2025
The Jerry world game always had multiple pleasers. First, Jerry wanted the Hogs to play in his building because he clearly loves his Hogs. Second, when there were no Texas teams in the SEC it was a great recruiting point. Now we’re going to be playing a ton in Texas with the addition of the Longhorns, we clearly don’t need to give up an annual game there against an SEC opponent. Now I wouldn’t mind some future neutral site game there against a non-conference foe on a 1 off basis but nothing like the A&M series.
Very likely an overreaction but the Pittman hire feels a lot like Clemson hiring Dabo. Underrated assistant coach, not sought after as HC, gets dream job amidst scrutiny, program that's considered underachieving, hires great assistants and recruits his tail off. Probably overreacting but I'm just saying...watch out Bama. Swiggity swoogity
Dabo was not even 40 when he took over at Clemson and Sam Pittman wasnt an underrated assistant also Clemson wasnt Dabo’s dream job
the only way Pittman was underrated was because he was attached to that shitty ass OC for awhile also I feel like he wouldnt want to be a HC unless it was at Arky
I look at it as capturing lightning in a bottle. Pittman had been around winning programs and knew what it took to win. He got an opportunity and jumped at it. He also reminds everyone that he has the best coaching staff in the country which may be true. Odom is an incredible DC and Briles is a damn good play caller. Add in a total shift from what these kids played under a couple years ago and you have a situation where the kids believe they can win. Belief is a powerful fucking thing.
Apparently Pittman called Eric Muss and DVH on Wednesday and said it would be helpful if they were there on the side line. EM said he was already planning on it. DVH said he had practice scheduled but would cancel it and come down. Mike Neighbors also came down and was in the stadium with them. Holy shit what HY has built here.
Not trying to be that guy but anyone thinking Mike Woods is regretting his decision to transfer? He is sitting on 9 receptions for 68 yards at the moment while OU struggles with WVU. Could have been a serious impact player for us this year and he’s buried on the depth chart there. Wish him the best but….
I want to note that as well as hiring great coaches and turning around essentially every under performing unit at the university, Hunter Y has got a very smug ass social media staff across the department. Basketball season saw the university account all Baseball season saw the university account all and now each week the university is putting out plenty of Love it
I’ll be in Dallas next weekend, is there a bar that will have slaw fans? My family doesn’t care about games unless we are at them @jerryjones
https://www.ksphenderson.com// is the one close to downtown. The Buffalo Wild Wings in Carrollton is another spot. https://hogfan.com/greater-dallas-razorback-club-watch-parties/
First, enjoyed watching your game yesterday. Definitely my adopted SEC team of the season. Second, any of you guys follow Arkansas Pine Bluff at all? Their HC (Doc Gamble) was my high school's head coach my senior year. Really cool dude. We only won 1 game that year but he's someone I'd love to see at an AAC level school. Guy can coach. He came into such a shitty situation as our HC. He was at his HS alma mater which was an innercity Cincinnati school and he was fairly successful before coming to us. The coaches before had no idea what was going on, playbook was extremely basic, shitty culture, etc. We were the largest high school in the state had won 1 game in 2 years so nobody wanted to play. His offense, practice structure, and just general football IQ was something I hadn't seen all of high school. He left after his one year and went back to his alma mater before bouncing around as a QC/assistant for a few years before ending up at APB. Dude also loved his players and did everything he could to get them to play in college. He even had some shitty NAIA schools try to recruit me because I had told him once in fall camp that I was interested in coaching as a career. He barely knew my name when I told him that. Just a classy, good dude.
Man, if covid wasn’t lingering I’d totally check out a game there. Would’ve been perfect with Arkansas having an up year
Ah fuck, forgot about that. nevermind Goose, attending in WMS would require your shot records to be fully up to date
