I need to engage in a read-thru of the lyrics but here are my favorites so far. 1. Jaw Harp on Dood part 1 2. the sound effects 3. Anthem/march sounds of prologue/epilogue. I haven't listened on nice headphones yet, either.
Played Out and Sam haven't prevented me from re-listening multiple times, but they do make me pause for a sec before I push play.
SIAP, but this is a good short read. Worth reposting even if so. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/sturgill-simpson-new-album-dood-juanita-1214449/
Sturgill lost his voice and isn’t performing in Atlanta tonight. Replaced by Tyler Childers, but this is a significant bummer
This stings man. 2 years in a row I had tickets to two nights each. I don't think I will ever get over missing Sound & Fury live. There is still a chance I see him play bluegrass at the Ryman. Just got to hit that ticket lottery again. Oh well, been jamming while typing all this
I wanted to see it so bad damn can’t image y’all with the tickets for multiple nights years in a row. We saw a little of what it could have been at Roo.
I wasn't referring to anything specifically. More hoping he makes the dates up before I die, and I get lucky on Ticketmaster.
I've given up. I'm never gonna see a full show live from him. 2 years in a row now. At least i got to see him and Prine at the Opry in 2019.
Nearly pulled the trigger on a 24 hour up and back trip to see a Webster Hall show. Thankful I did not.
Just used part of my credit from Sturgill canceling to score two seats to see Isbell and the 400 unit in October.
I realize publications have to fill space, but damn. An entire interview that tells us…nothing. How’s the recovery going? Planning on touring? Recording more?
Seems like Sturgill is the type of person to share what he wants to share. Especially the interviews following S&F, and all the comments he has made about music journalism over the years. There was something one time he said tongue in cheek about Turtles All The Way Down and drugs or the like. Then they twisted it, and it took off one way. Something like that.
this guy recently posted a few old sturgill songs / videos / radio performances i don't think have been on youtube before
Daddy Rabbit got me started collecting concert posters at this show and I've been addicted since then lol.
Such a great freaking show. My first concert after moving to Nashville. I've built up quite the poster collection since then. I did lose my koozie from that show, or some finally stole it from me.
