This probably doesn’t matter but: Haase or Keibert Ruiz for rest of season?

Picked up Ruiz myself and dropped Carson Kelly. I'd lean Haase though.

Are there any random pitchers I should be looking at for starts? This final round allows for 24

Really depends on how deep your league is. Cobb, Pineada and Reynaldo look good today. Reynaldo I’d only use if you need K’s, he could absolutely decimate your ratios.

10 team league, this is what I have right now. I've had the majority of these guys for the full season. But I know I need to fill in some starts here in the last week 1/2

I’m sure he’s stashed but Bieber comes back tomorrow if he got dropped for whatever reason. Jose Suarez is probably available and he’s been pitching pretty well the last few starts. Vlad Gutierrez is a little more risky but he’s got a start against the orioles this weekend too

Finished 1/2/1 in my 3 leagues. Having Vlad and Ohtani in each league helped.

Do you have an easy way to view their stats through the last two weeks or month? That can be handy to drop guys. Also generally a good idea to stay away from stacked lineups or hot teams. Is this a keeper league? Also you will start to see some guys get shut down here soon as well but guessing this isnt your first rodeo.

Finally depending on who you are in the league with or up against, if you have a sizable lead dont forget to still pick up probable starters to block your opponent. You can keep them on the bench, just leave them with the shittiest of options every day,

dunno who plays in NFBC here, looking pretty good to win my first league. one of two Draft Champions formats i tried this year (50 round draft with no waivers or trades all year). $1k to 1st place, but no where near the overall prize pool money, unfortunately ...

sadly my pitching regressed big time the final week, still my first time cashing in one with a 2nd place. yeah, it's a good site and format, would recommend if you're looking for slightly higher stakes (or simply don't have any friends that will do a league) ...

This is my second year back playing after a few years off. I finished tenth, but I fell apart at the end due to a ton of injuries.
    Format is H2H 12 teams with deep rosters: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, 1B/3B, 1B/SS, OF x 5, DH, UT x2. P x12. 7 bench spots.
It’s a snake draft and cats are AVG, R, RBI HR, SB, OBP and K, W SV, ERA, WHIP and QS.

Any thoughts on how to attack this?

two utils and 5 OFs is a deep format IMO, even for 12 teams, i think you hammer hitting early unless an obvious pitcher slips a little bit. probably more than grabbing elite SPs this year is anchoring an elite closer. RPs flying up the draft board, Hendriks and Hader are like rd 3/4 guys in stakes leagues ...

Realistically what round should I be targeting a closer? I grabbed Hendriks last year in the 6th.
Do you have any sleepers or mid or late round guys you like?

I think you need to be more aggressive with a front line starter and depth. I think last year you got boned on that if I am remembering correctly. Quality SP are not nearly as abundant as years past. I'm at least grabbing one of the top tier SP.

I did not look at ADP yet, I am a bit behind but typically the closers that are sleepers tend to crop up through injury or someone just bombing out. Not sure if you have time but I have this slated to listen to. Also a good column to follow throughout the year if you are chasing saves.

i used to stay away from pitching until like round six or later and just build a crazy offense that could sweep the offensive cats. then shoot for volume at pitching/punt ratios. rely heavily on streaming. pretty tried a true strategy in my experience, tho a little out-dated some may argue.

now i tend to focus on drafting surplus value with a loose idea of ideal roster construction (five top 45ish pitchers, for example) but always looking for value.

depends on how much your league is following content and using "pro" rankings. Ciely's rankings on the Athletic put Hader/Hendriks around 80 overall, home league you might get one in the 6th but more serious formats they can go a lot higher. i haven't drafted a Roto yet, just best ball drafts on Underdog so far, so i'm not up to date with the later round closers. Blake Treinen for LAD now that Jansen is gone (though he'll be moving up quickly), Jordan Romano for TOR (folks were worried about someone signing there). Camilo Doval is the YOLO guy in SF, concerns about closer-by-committee but he also took the job over last year. if you wait he'd be a worthy spend ...

i can see myself going in either direction. if DeGrom/Cole/Burnes/Scherzer are available at the right slot fine to start there. but i think there's a pretty wide group of guys that could also end up top 10 overall that you can wait on (Nola, Urias, Darvish, Gausman to name a few). right now i'm inclined to grab hitters early, one elite closer, and begin hammering my SPs in rds 4-5-6 roughly ...

Thanks. I drafted Bieber in the 1st, Glasnow 5th, Hendriks 6, and then Dinelson Lamet 10th :puke: and Gausman 12 which was great value.

My top line starters were good and I was able to get saves with Hendriks and a couple mid to late guys or FAs. I didn’t have any depth really so that’s a lesson learned with going for higher end pitchers. My other issue is I drafted way too many bench position players so didn’t have many bench pitchers to start the season. So another lesson learned is to have 2-3 bench position players max.

My slow draft started Monday. H2H categories with daily moves. 5x5 with QS over W. Since it’s daily moves and we get 5 adds a week I usually like to wait on pitching. I think I’ll try to get 2 SP and 1 RP in the first 10 rounds. 12 team league and I have the 2nd pick:
    1.2 - Jose Ramirez
    2.23 - Teoscar Hernandez
    3.26 - Tim Anderson

Was hoping that Yordan would fall to me at 2.23. The mild wrist strain news today was fun to wake up to after drafting him last night.

I have had a lot of success by punting Saves in H2H leagues. I got sick and tired of wasting picks on closers who would either get hurt, bust, and/or lose their job. By punting saves you need to make sure you load up on front-line starters early to ensure your ratios don't suffer.

this is a great point h2h less critical than roto. i think Chafin to Detroit is interesting for a very late spec, Soto is good but that BP isn't set in stone and he was fantastic in the role last year ...
