It's super vague on purpose imo, but think more guidance comes tomorrow They don't want to recommend for medical facilities and such for young folks because the data is not great for it but fine if people get them. I'll get mine six months on the dot.

It's been seven months for me but since I'm in the Moderna trial they were trying to schedule my next appointment around my one year follow-up to combine it with a possible booster shot. That is this coming Tuesday so it will be interesting to see what they do with us if Moderna has filed for EUA on a booster by then.
There's nothing in there about boosters though, this seems more like the original guidelines of who is most at risk if you're unvaccinated.
Supposedly this week also marks the pfizer clinical trial, 6 months after 3rd shot group. We all will be getting some data soon on antibody abundancy and efficacy soon on that front
I'm over 8 months since 2nd dose, was waiting for official healthcare worker approval, but since that's not happening as of now I know a pharmacy by here doesn't check if you just ask for a booster and say you qualify, so just going to go tomorrow and get it.
FFS. Father of 12 dead. I looked at many stories on the web and none say vaccine status. Found a link to his brother’s fb post on the passing and no mention of status. Comments on post directly asking if he was vaccinated and question not answered but brother tells people to stop trolling. Does mention pretty much whole family got covid. This crap is unbelievable. It is never going to stop. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.star-telegram.com/news/coronavirus/article254459828.html
Has there been any indication of when mRNA vaccines adjusted to address variant mutations might be available?
Why would you discourage this behavior, as long as they stay out of the hospital let them go down with the ship
They'll do it regardless. they kill their significant other then they get convicted and can no longer vote
1) “limiting” spread is subjective. We could limit it right now if we all just stayed at home. The level of NPIs is inherently going to be a discussion point when you don’t have a strategy of elimination. Elimination is being ditched by most countries. New Zealand have now essentially ditched it but won’t admit it yet. Taiwan and China still have that policy. All of this means that like before, we have to assess to the impact of different NPIs. FYI, given that vaccines now look odds on for 5-11 year olds, I am now ambivalent with using masks short term in schools but still think there is an OTT focus on this by many here that isn’t in places handling the pandemic far better. I think we should always look at the here and now and look to policies that are the most sustainable given the available tools. 2) monitoring the virus is fine to an extent, but we have to accept the inherent limitations of PCR testing and the issues that mandatory isolation cause. Mass testing with PCR should be on the way out now given high vaccination levels, that is happening in places like Denmark. The financial cost of this is huge, we should be using a portion of these funds and also lab availability (though I accept this is a challenge given distance) for testing in the third world to pick up variants sooner.
Follow up for the thread, I was sick for about 5 days, tested negative on the rapid test after 2 days of symptoms. My symptoms lined up pretty good with a breakthrough and I rarely get allergies/sinus stuff. Can/Should I follow up with a more precise test to see if I actually had a breakthrough case?
I’d get the PCR if you’re really concerned. That’s what I did this week. If you actually think you might have it, get the most accurate test possible to give you peace of mind one way or the other.
Get a PCR test if you can. Body aches in particular would make me worry, that's usually not a simple cold for me.
I’ve kind of enjoyed the last two weeks of “Even More News” where Katie and to a lesser extent Cody have been “I just don’t like making fun of people dying because of not getting the vaccine or denying treatment to unvaccinated people” and Robert just going “8 months ago sure but now…fuck em”
