All they have that is magsafe appears to be the clear ultra hybrid and I'm never buying clear, and the black one. Don't really want a black case.
Going from a two-year-old phone's battery health to a brand new one is such a great feeling. I've been on 98% for nearly two hours now.
How do you update apps with iOS 15? used to go into apps, then tap your picture, then I had to pull down to refresh.
My screen protectors were shit. THey fucked up the cut at the top for the notch so they were partly covering the camera and fucking up everything. Guess I'll be returning those. Ended up ordering this case since my other one doesn't work well with magsafe stuff. Thus one better damn work. Had this same model of case on my 11 and I liked it.
- Paid off my 12 Pro in July - Traded it in to GameStop last night for $550 cash. Could’ve gotten almost $700 for in-store credit but I still had almost $150 in-store left on my card from when I traded in my 11 Pro last year. Pre-ordered and paid off 2 more games. Still have $25 in-store credit left. - Life of a gamer
Are there any advantages/deals to buying an iPhone through AT&T versus Apple directly or vice versa? Assume just paying cash rather than financing.
The best deals now are the ones that lock you into paying over 24-30 months, you don’t get the same trade in value if you want to buy it outright. I much prefer to buy outright but since I don’t upgrade every year I was fine with doing the 24 month payments to only end up paying $200 for this phone
Mobile carriers want you to trade in and lock in contract. Especially if your current device isn’t 5G. They upcharge 5G service. I’m getting $800 for XR and 13 pro is $5 a month.
I’m on a plan with my parents still and they fuck up the billing in extraordinary ways any time someone adds a new phone onto the plan. I just don’t even bother anymore. Been unlocked for about 6 years and just buy outright from Apple and send in my old phone for credit. I also didn’t fuck with changing the plan for international travel and opted to just walk into an Orange shop in a Paris train station to buy preloaded SIM cards that I keep in my carry-on for anytime I’m abroad. Super easy until you can’t switch the SIM in the airport and have to ask a girl at the gate if you can borrow her earring.
Mine was simple. My buddy couldn't get his to pair for some reason. Edit: he got it to work. had to unpair from the old one and then install it as a new device on his new phone or whatever.
I made apple store reservations yesterday and was in and out in 15 minutes and it was good and this new phone is good
I did unpair it from my old phone, but it still wouldn’t work. Ended up wiping it, pairing it to new phone with the last back up, which was this morning.
Wife had a mini lemon last upgrade. Had to change out the SIM at least 5 times for trouble shooting. Nothing worked except her damn earring. I get you don’t just want them falling out but damn that’s a dumb design.
Had to reset my phone to finally get it to activate last night. And then reset my watch to get it paired. More painful than past experiences.
Those of you going from 12 pro to 13 pro, can you tell much of a difference? Feel like the screen is much better.
Been tinkering with the magsafe charging with my 13 pro max. I guess I just don't really see the benefit in it. It's slower than usb-c/lightning and you have to use both hands to remove the phone just like you do with the old school charging methods. I'll probably use it on occasion but I have no idea how often that'll actually happen.
Two 13 Pros on the way for the wife and I. Upgrading from two XS’. I spent a lot of time at the Verizon store primarily because my former boss at blockbuster almost 20 years ago manages the store which was really wild to think about by the way. Also My XS is scratched and the phone glass is cracked thanks to my wife throwing tools across the room in a heated argument over IKEA furniture assembly. It hit right on the edge of the tempered glass next to the front facing camera port. I have the basic unlimited plan and they were giving me $300 for my phone because it was damaged. I was confused because other friends of mine had gotten $800 for similar phones. Basically you have to be on a Verizon premium plan which was $10 a month more than my plan and voila my trade in went up to $800. The Wife’s phone was in perfect shape and hers was also $800. That plan also comes with the Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu ad bundle for free which I was already paying full price for at $14/month. So for two 256GB 13 pro phones our monthly bill goes up $36 a month after everything equalizes but I saved an additional $14 a month from the free Disney bundle and also got at least $500 more (I’m not sure what my wife’s phone trade in value was on the old plan I damaged) in trade in value. I’m paying basically at most an extra $140 over a 30 month time frame for new phones not including the new phone purchase tax. It’s just wild to me. My monthly bill for my XS’ before they were paid off was more per month in relation to having new 13 Pros. I thought for sure they were crazy. The only thing I can think is that the competition has gotten so cutthroat and actually quality as wel, they’re more than willing to lose revenue by sweetening the deal to tie customers into 24-30 month contracts and keep them. This may be well known and an obvious thing to most of you but that was my experience.
I bought a sturdy MagSafe stand for my nightstand and that’s the main difference to me. Reach over and let the magnet take it so I’m not fishing for the cable in the dark. I’m still trying to find a MagSafe mount for my truck, though. Don’t care if it charges or not since I don’t have wireless CarPlay.
my 12 charges faster on the MagSafe in my unscientific gut feeling. plus being able to put it on the charger without fumbling around with cords is great
I have the same. Love it. And I can tap it at night to see any notifications and roll back over to sleep.
New phone seems a bit buggy.. There's the known watch issue but I use SwiftKey and it keeps freezing.
