Found a really good deal on a crew cab Colorado with not too many miles. Dealer with Tacoma refused to negotiate. I’m liking it so far.
I wonder how long it will take for new truck prices to go down. I guess it could be this way for another year or longer.
Agreed on a year or longer. Supply chain for parts, inventory catchup, etc. I recently bought a new Tundra, found a dealer who had bought 70 of them from Toyota back in January. They were supposed to be rental or service loaners, stipulation was they couldn't be sold by the dealer for 6 months from delivery. So, my truck was titled by the dealer, had three miles on it when I test drove it, and was Toyota Certified Used (killer warranty.) Dealer took a gamble last winter, I got a truck in August when nobody had inventory. Win-win.
I have a Tacoma so I guess I’m a big ole truck boy and belong in this big ole truck boy thread. This is likely all I have to contribute to this big ole truck boy thread.
I was thinking about getting a Tundra because the reliability is so good but Tundras haven't been updated in years very much and are way behind other brands in interior/technology etc. Looks like I could get a 2020 F-150 4x4 with leather for $55k.
Toyota is updating everything on the 2022 Tundra. They actually just released all the information tonight.
If you don’t absolutely need a new truck right now, then you should wait. That $55k price is not a good deal unless it is a King Ranch or Platinum
Yeah dealers are buying out their leases with low miles etc and giving those people huge discounts on their next vehicle just because they know they can jack up the rates and sell it to someone desperate. So not only are they getting an inflated rate but the interest rate is that much more to them. They can't lose.
I’m very tempted to sell my truck now, but also would need a truck to buy so it’s a no win situation.
Just had my oil changed and dealership was trying hard to get mine. 2012 Silverado LTZ, 110k, offered 20k cash.
Where is this dealership, might take my 2011 silverado up there… jk, it’s got dents and almost 180k. Had the airbag recall fixed a couple weeks ago at the dealer and received no such offer despite their empty lot.
I have a retiree that works for me and he sold his FORD FUCKING RANGER (last year before they stopped production) with like 40k miles for $12k. I was furious. I was like it's in mint condition. You could easily get $15k+
How are the reviews on the electric Ford’s. I’m tempted to wait a few years to make sure they are good. Them have an electrician install a generator hook up at my house. I’m case of hurricane to use the truck.
When were you ever able to get a new king rach for $55k? Thought they have always been in the 60s and depending on options can creep into the 70s
https://mullinaxfordmobile.com/sale/ford-f150-mobile-al a bunch of these are 2021 Lariat's . MRSP is like $50k-53k. They are selling some of them for $48k-50k etc
I thought you were looking at used since you said a 2020. But you could get them that cheap last year but not now since the chip shortage. But you also probably aren’t going to find a 4wd Lariat for 55k now either. The dealer you linked only had 6 Lariats across all of their locations and their advertised price included rebates that you might not qualify for. Later this year some dealers might be giving better deals because none of them are going to hit their sales numbers so I would just wait.
So my friend referred me to a guy he bought his truck from at a local toyota dealership. Was looking for 2021 4WD Tundras. They have a 2021 Platinum with 12,800 miles for $55,000. That sounds like a lot for a used truck but that is one of their nicer packages. They have 2021 factory brand new SR5 TSS coming in for $49k with 4WD but it's cloth. I know the 2022s are about to come out . But they are probably going to be expensive. Thoughts on that Platinum for $55k? I would have said that's a rip off before the pandemic but now it just seems normal.
I'd personally wait for a '22 with all the updates it has... I think you're in AL, but a quick search gave me these 2 brand new ones at the same price in MS. Not sure how far away that is from you. https://www.truecar.com/new-cars-fo...ndra/?utm_medium=sharing&utm_source=vdp_share https://www.truecar.com/new-cars-fo...ndra/?utm_medium=sharing&utm_source=vdp_share
I think the new tundras are gonna be $65k for a good one that isn't stripped down. They are increasing the price point.
Wanted to see what I could get in the 50-55k range from Ford . Called the local dealership and they ran these past me: 2019 Lariat -50k Miles-$50k. 2019 King Ranch-48k miles-$55,800. 2018 limited-37k miles-$59,900. I'm not paying $50k+ for a truck with 50k miles on it.
Honestly the best thing about TUndras were that they were affordable good trucks. I'm fine with them being a little outdated in terms of the infotainment system etc. If they start charging as much as Ford for a new truck, they've lost their biggest advantage and selling point.
Pre pandemic you could get a new truck cheaper than used with incentives. I was going to buy a used f150, but factory rebates on a new one made the similar new one cheaper at that point in time.
Jesus I beat the dealers up at the begining of covid for a 20 King ranch fully loaded. Got them down to 58k with financing or 62k zero down and 0%
if you don’t “need” a full size right now, I’d wait. You’re looking at the worst inventory and highest prices in our lifetime. At least one of those things should resolve in the next year.
