I could probably look this up but... Did Hovland grow up here most his life or something? I mean I know he went to Okie St. but he doesn't have a foreign accent at all.
I have some tennis friends who also golf who didn’t like what he did to Caroline Wozniacki to which I don’t know exactly what he did but they made it seem he was either in the wrong or handled it poorly.
Reminder that Rickie Fowler has won 5 PGA tournaments in his entire career, and 0 majors. Morikawa has already matched and exceeded that
Eh, maybe the reason he went that route was because she was never around. Hey we don’t spend enough time together, this won’t work for me anymore.
Related bc it’s interesting to me. You see this all the time with Scandinavian hockey players. They often learn English very early so it’s very good already when they come over. Then by the time they’ve lived here for like 3 years you’d think they grew up here. Danish player Nikolaj Ehlers:
So they interviewed Mario Tizinai on pgatour radio today. Apparently he's strickers brother in law and a pro golfer. Was part of Ryder cup group. He said strick gave the guys what the wanted and got rid of all the obligations. Gave them tons of down time to relax and prepare like they are used to. Sounds like Brooks said what everyone wanted to say and Strick agreed.
Here's an nbc article talking about that and what a great job Stricker did. Guy deserves a ton of credit. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.go...perhumans-who-deliver-marvelous-ryder-cup?amp
100% but golf world is so stuffy. Some people have a problem with doing anything differently. Apparently Stricker cut out a bunch of speeches by former players. Said nothing those guys had to say could get his team anymore motivated. Probably ruffled some feathers.
Tpc Vegas was a great coarse. Funny thing in the hotel, gfore hotel logo apparel, only 375 for a jacket.
Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but the SI article didn’t mention any other sources for watching, and I assume they would if there were. Didn’t dig into it all that deeply. Maybe the deeper rounds will be? This is qualifying for the round of 64
I watched one of his stupid youtube videos speed training and I think he has a pretty good shot. Some guys are faster but he will most likely have better launch conditions and will hit a lot more balls in the grid. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets top 2-3.
This stream has been tough to follow, which is unfortunate. Apparently, Golf Channel had the rights but all the sponsors dropped out due to Covid, so they’ve had to DIY their own production. Lots of technical difficulties with audio, getting numbers in real time, and their one shot tracer doesn’t work. Hopefully, Bryson’s appearance can get them some much needed money. Competitors are doing commentary so that’s been insightful at least, and should be fun to hear their takes on Bryson’s performance/participation
Friend of mine just advanced to the round of 16 in the mid am. Pretty crazy week so far. On the cut line in stroke play. 13 for 7 playoff for the cut line. 6 guys advance on first playoff hole, my friend birdies second playoff hole to take final spot in match play. Down 3 with 6 to go against #1 seed, pushes that in to playoff then eagles playoff hole #2 to advance. Just won his round of 32 5 and 4. Good golfer, obviously, but this qualifies as fairy tale stuff type good golfer.
I believe so, as well as an exemption to the US open. ETA: And a great puff piece on the golf channel during one of those weeks
Watching Bryson have an absolute blast competing in this thing a couple days removed from a Ryder Cup win in front of a small live crowd, and only a few thousand viewers streaming on YouTube with terrible production value may have just won me over. Team Bryson
Just took a hozzle rocket off of my hand. Pretty sure it’s broken in a few spots. My already short golf season might have just gotten shorter Spoiler
