I had been thinking they’d try to move the Las Vegas bowl up in bowl tiers. But that was before realignment started again.
They already did. B1G and SEC are tied into it now and rotate years against the Pac-12. How about no.
the SEC-Pac12 have a new bowl arrangement there that should do well it alternates years with the Mayo Bowl in charlotte for the SEC bowl tie-in, but bet is it will get the top selection behind the Citrus.
I’m imagining fans of both schools walking up and down the strip drunk with a yard of margarita still in hand and it just…it just…sounds awful
think the majority of your fans would prefer the superior tailgating setup and football atmosphere in Raleigh
It would be different for them tailgating in massive acreage of parking lots rather than a campus setting. But actually getting into Raleigh and hanging out in a better city would be > than Durham. NCSU is better for basketball personally.
I think oregon had a home at home with a&m too but that disappeared - maybe I’m misremembering. Texas tech and ok state in the next few years #Oregon Ducks don’t love seeing BYU on the schedule next year and then boise state a bunch too
I get the familiarity angle but I feel like tailgating loses some of its luster when you have to do it in a parking deck. Also, getting out of Chapel Hill after a game is a goddamn nightmare.
I searched hard for a still shot of the guy's "yuk yuk" face right before he gets hit but to no avail. I did learn his name is Byron Hout and he regrets talking that shit
In a vacuum, not a big deal. For some reason, they're on the schedule 3 years in a row. While that might change, two of those years also have ok state plus a nine game conference schedule. Seems unnecessary and not balanced with what other conferences are doing as of today. I'd rather see a middle of the pack Mountain West team than Boise a bunch of times.
love how this game was promoted as a kind of special game for sportsmanship or brotherhood in sports or some bullshit, then this happened I got Blount jersey for 75% off the next week
I’m sure it’s a FSU thing since we are poor. Still don’t understand why it’s not a sponsored game at a college campus but whatever.
Gotta make that trip to Seattle if you're a UT fan. I wasn't there on a gameday but I've walked around UW's stadium and it looks insanely awesome for a game day. Maybe the "Vol Navy" can set up on Lake Washington
UT has @ Pitt, @BYU, @Neb, @UW. Pittsburgh isn't going to be in my cards this fall. Not sure making the BYU trip is in my budget. But I definitely want to go to Lincoln (2026) and Seattle (2030). BIGASSTITTIES start planning now It would be tight to go up there, rent or charter a bad ass boat, and set up shop. That's the ticket in my early 40s
That's crazy. All 4 of those are high quality OOC roadtrips. Yalls AD hooks it up. I don't think South Carolina has played a game on the west coast ever, probably not many west of the Mississippi
Was thinking about this earlier. I think we did a home & home with the other USC in the 80’s but in recent memory, College Station is probably the western most location we’ve played. Never being considered for The Cotton Bowl hasn’t been cool.
