Chef Goldblum being a working comedian has convinced me that a lot of people could do that shit if they had the wherewithal to withstand poverty and a really shitty lifestyle for a long time. Comedy is the college football coach of the show business world.
I did not, but was supposedly the worst one of the six. Combo of live audience and them only going for shock value with the heavy segment were the critiques.
He’s gonna be on Flagrant2 pretty soon as well. Getting canceled did more for his career than the snl job would have from a longevity perspective.
1) I've always enjoyed Shane's comedy and I like the skits on Gilly and Keeves. I thought his YouTube special was pretty solid and also thought he was fairly entertaining on YMH. I get why he got in trouble but I never listened to his podcasts so whatever. It clearly hasn't affected his career. 2) I bought the first 4 YMH Lives and all the 2 Bears lives. The last two YMHs I just haven't had a desire to check out. Maybe it's the live audience part of it but idk I feel less interested in buying or watching them.
I liked Shane on this ep. His sense of humor seemed to mesh with Tom’s. Christina is an absolute psychopath for enjoying that round of toks.
Ok so Chris Hansen really sucked and took it too seriously. Bummer that he’s the last guest in the LA studio.
Eh I disagree. It was a pretty good interview. More of a Tom Talks kinda guest than YMH, but I enjoyed the listen.
I thought Hansen was a good guest but he's just too serious of a guy to really cut loose with the mommies. Would have been nice if they got a bit more wild for the last show in LA.
Looking forward to Kevin Samuels in studio sometime this year, has to happen with how Tom admires him.
It seems like they have very few guests compared to the past. Is that covid related or more Austin vs L.A.?
I guess it's not fully set up yet so I won't say it can't get better, but I don't really like the new set. If they're going to sit across a table from each other they should have a screen in the middle where they show the clips like before the last studio. The nick-nacks will help too but theu have limited space to put it on the mantle and you can't see the cool guy portraits with the camera angles they have.
Do you not feel like you’re missing out somewhat when they’re playing videos? I do a combo of watching/listening.
Not really. I kind of enjoy just listening to them. Every once in a while, I'll go back and watch a few clips, and I rarely feel like it adds much for me.
I’m with you. No way in hell I’m gonna consume podcasts by sitting there and watching. Sometimes I’ll go find the video if there’s some clip or reaction I’m curious in.
The number of commercials on the video/YouTube version is too damn high. I have to pause often and between their reads, the baked in ads, and then the YouTube ads if I pause for too long. It’s just not worth it.
I used to never miss an episode and now I get so frustrated I’ll put it down for 2 or 3 months and maybe go back and cherry pick some episodes. I’m happy they’re getting paid but it’s honestly worse since the pandemic—while I’m simultaneously getting spoiled by streaming services with no commercials at all.
Yes. I’m sure they ratcheted up the ads to supplement lost touring revenue and now it’s just the new baseline. Although I’m pretty sure the newest 2b1c had no ads so that was weird. Maybe a mistake by nadav
I barely watch anything on TV and don't really use streaming services much either. So YouTube is easy to throw on at night and watch a podcast. It's just on in the background unless they play a clip then I watch to see what's going on. You can double click youtube videos, so I skip through their personal ad reads that way, and they can only place youtube ads on certain episodes because if they talk/show something youtube doesn't like it's demonotized and they can't make money off YT ads. So like half the shows don't have YT ads. I should say this is all on mobile too because again I'm not streaming a lot of stuff on a TV.
I watch YMH and listen to 2b1c and Dr. Drew. Although I probably miss about 60% of the episodes from the last 2.
I quit DD a while back. I’ve gotten bored with YMH but I think it’s just because I’ve gotten bored with pods in general. Nothing they’re doing.
RIP Top Dog…FUCK He seemed like an amazing dad. https://www.tcpalm.com/story/opinio...ted-way-leader-tom-segura-dies-74/9075509002/
