The reason I brought it up was because I was just in a Jess King one where she did it 3 different times and named like 50 people
Team shout outs especially since I’m a shout out whore. I’ve gotten them on strength and yoga classes too so yeah.
Denis is probably the best at it. When Peloton got bigger he definitely scaled back on the shoutouts.
Ever since I’ve switched to mostly PZ rides, I just turn the volume down to the lowest setting and have the captions on. Then I just use a Bluetooth and connect my phone/listen to my own music. Those PZ rides are pretty straight forward so I don’t need much instruction/motivation etc.
There definitely is a very yoga mom vibe that I could do without sometimes. Bike bootcamps and strength classes are better and ironically yoga and meditation classes don’t have that vibe at all.
Might have to turn them on in the menu, and I think sometimes it takes like a day for the on demand version to have them added but for the PZ rides it’s clutch.
I like Jess King on certain rides. I enjoy her general wild nature. Not in my top 3 or anything, but a nice change of pace.
Ride 200 tonight - a 30 min Dennis rock ride. Kind of humbling, my second 100 rides were a much worse trajectory than my first 100. I pushed myself to my absolute limit to get an output that was a fairly safe/standard output for me around ride 100 (which is still my PR). I partially blame my transition back to the office which has made me a lot more tired with less focus on riding and some personal stuff which kept me off the bike for a bit. Oh well
I thought this was a safe space for my bonk ButchCassidy you cut me deep. I thought this was our Vegas.
I had this thought when I first got the bike, but you quickly get over it. You learn which instructors are most palatable to you. I only find myself getting annoyed once every 10 rides.
Yep. Was reading up and it sounded like they had a huge system wide problem yesterday. Will do the reset tonight.
Legs are dead. About 140 miles over the last week finally taking a day off tomorrow. Think I am at place where I am doing more harm than good. Family bullshit had me in a fucked up head space. Son’s birthday is tomorrow so I will pick him up and hopefully do some responsible day drinking while we watch some football.
Yes hello, I have joined the club. Ordered today and they can deliver tomorrow. Supply chains be damned
Will I hate myself if I buy $60 cleats on amazon? This is more for the wife...I'll probably only use it once a week or so.
that's not a great position to take because you never know if you'll love it and use it every day. I bought these and they do me fine https://www.pearlizumi.com/products/mens-quest-road-15182004
ned's head do you work out a lot already? If so this might be the best fitness purchase you’ve ever made. While it’s specifically a “cardio” machine the whole experience is geared towards total body health and fitness. Take a bootcamp class. There are tons of strength classes (all types) as well as meditation classes yoga and stretching too. People think it’s just a stationary bike but it’s really much more. Get some dumbbells as soon as you can.
I was thinking those shoes were cheap, compared to the brands I'd heard of. My goal would be to lift 3-4 times per week because I'm a skinny guy already, but I am holding off on going back to the gym until my kids can be vaxxed. So I will try the other workouts and I do have some bands and dumbells
they also have band workouts as well as Barre and Pilates. Now mind you you’re not going to get huge doing these workouts but you can customize them to where even a 10 minute light weight arms and shoulders gets you a nice workout and that good “sore “. They use 1-5 pound weights on light dumbbells I use 10-15 and trust me during a 10 minute non stop workout those get heavy lol
I fully understand I sound like I’m a cult member but I swear it’s not a cult. It’s just the best thing ever.
Don't spend much time rolling out; It's connective tissue, reduce the forces on it. Spend more time strengthening your glutes and lateral hip musculature to reduce "pull" on the IT band. -TMB PT
Appreciate the feedback . Funny you should mention this as I've done more lower body lifting in the past two months than I have the previous 5 years probably. Hope that starts to pay off.
Yeah no problem. I never know if people want basic advice on the internet or not so I usually refrain, but it’s a really common thing people usually do wrong. Rolling it out can do some things with your nervous system which makes it feel better…temporarily. It doesn’t fix the mechanical problem that leads to unbalanced forces that cause pain.
Coworker of mine has it and really loves it. I'm thinking about getting it for my wife after the pregnancy. I've read a decent amount of good reviews.
Now do shoulder tendinitis pls…I’ve been dealing with soreness lately throughout my deltoids so aside from stretching daily I’ve been rolling with a lacrosse ball in the surrounding areas to try to loosen up those that might be pulling on the delts. Got any other tips? I think I also need to rest it some but I’m too stubborn to just not do anything
Or wrist tendonitis. Jacked mine up doing a core workout (a lot of contributing factors I am guessing). Been wearing a brace and hasn’t done a ton in the couple weeks. Stopped doing weights but really hoping to curb it soon.
Shoulders get a bit tricky, but just shooting from the hip, I’d strengthen intrinsic scapular stabilizers (I, Y’s, T’s) and also work the heck out of the rotator cuff. Creates better balance between anterior and posterior musculature. What your doing can help some with symptoms but most able bodied people need some form of corrective strengthening for these pains. Thoracic mobility is important too.
Haha, we have OT’s on staff that treat elbow down and are specific hand therapists so I never see that stuff. But in general, make sure you have full active wrist flexion and extension, and work on strengthening wrist extensors.
I like the swivel screen and auto syncing the resistance. It is worth it to me, but I could easily see how people would disagree if they have a room with a tv to easily play the app.
I was considering it before the $400 drop on the original. There are hacks for under $50 to make your screen swivel:
