money rules all I don't know what I'd do without F1 though, so I just hope they actually try to make some kind of change. Big props to Seb and Lewis always calling out the hosting countries on their BS
send me a request via PM and I’ll remember to do it tonight that way (I promise I don’t ignore topic icon/fan of requests I just have a horrible memory)
Same here as I'm sure you understand. I'm not a fan of one particular driver or team at this point but I certainly have my favorites which are George, Lando, and Max so I feel good about the future of those 3 which is a nice feeling.
Doha is anticipated to be a faster track than Silverstone. Once you set aside all the implications associated with the host country’s track record on human rights it should be a fun race.
Saudi’s race looks like it may not happen. The track looks to be nowhere near ready and they have I believe 60 days to go until FP1
I’ve seen people calling it a faster Monaco so idk if it’ll be very exciting. could be some fun tire impacts though
Yeah given f1 doesn’t have a lot of data on the tires I think the strategy decisions in the race will drive a lot of the outcome.
Saturdays suck because I'm a Husker fan but thankfully it's still golfing season so I still have that. Sundays are a bit better because of NFL. Just be thankful it's not the dark days of late January or the entire month of February which is the worst month of the year and it's not close. No F1, no golf, no football. It's usually <10° outside at least here. Bottom line, I can handle an off week compared to that!
I'm way late to this party, but no one thought Seb was going to leave Red Bull back in the day either. Max will absolutely jump ship for money once he has won a championship.
If Mercedes didn't punt the season before the current engine debut and they sucked ass like McLaren did he would 100% jumped ship to Redbull or Ferrari. These guys want titles and glory because with that comes the money.
Yep. The only one who has really played it wrong in the last 20 years has been Alonso. One of the greatest drivers of his generation but made all the wrong moves.
Seb had always talked about following in Michael’s footsteps and getting behind the wheel of “the red car” Seb leaving Red Bull wasn’t exactly a shock. It was the timing and coming off the 4 in a row that caught them off guard. Max could very well leave, but I’m sure he could get Lewis money out of Red Bull if it’s all about dollars. My guess is he’d only leave if RB wasn’t competitive anymore
Ferrari is really fast on race pace. If they can keep the tires fresh enough I think Charles has a real chance to win this weekend.
Agreed. I think Mercedes best case this weekend is Hamilton starts P11 and gets a podium with a Leclerc win.
guess there was something to this rumor Would be cool to see what Herta can do if they are looking for a teammate for Bottas
Two American owned teams… now we got something cooking. Maybe we can get an American engine manufacture in the sport?
Idk once Leclerc got past that over heating phase it would've been tough. But he's also the best driver on the grid and maybe could've held him off. The Merc debrief on YT should be good this week no matter
God I love hearing bitchy Lewis on the radio. Everything about Merc comes across as such a buttoned up organization that those moments of disarray are so satisfying. The drivers championship is setting up to be epic. Now another off week then on to Austin!!
He was losing 1.5 seconds a lap. He wasn’t holding anyone off. I kinda wish Charles waited to lap 8 and went to red slicks. Because he has nothing to play for really. But the play post race was to pit earlier for both Lewis and Charles.
I think a majority of tracks to close the season set up well for redbull. COTA is probably one of the few Mercedes has an advantage. They need to score big that weekend
