that's the only way Bill became friends with a Yankee fan in the first place, listening to Jacko talk about his team you'd think he was a fan of the Mariners or some shit, the Yankees are always a playoff team/contender and he spends every single appearance bashing everybody on the team outside of some bench guy or a random reliever
Yeah, it never really made much sense. I don't know how well they are run, but they seem to win fairly often from my perspective. Doesn't Bill have some rule that you can't complain about team for however many years after a title? I know he just starts talking and makes it up as he goes. See: "Sal and I love betting week 4 in the NFL. Our favorite week to bet."
Back when he wrote columns he came up with the five year rule saying if you win a title in that sport you couldn’t complain for five years.
if the braves ever win a title i will never complain again (because i will die from happiness immediately after they clinch)
As much as I don’t like A-Rod calling games, of course espn is gonna put him on the call. He calls Sunday night baseball. Sorry bill is finally realizing this
Fans can complain about their teams whenever. I just don’t know how a Red Sox and Yankee fan can justify constantly catastrophizing their teams.
I was in Atlanta when the Braves won the World Series. I ate at an Outback Steakhouse and had a blooming onion for the first time. Was good. Feed your kids blooming onions, folks.
Lol. Im watching the game with my wife and son on a Tuesday. You live and breathe on my every word. Get a life man. I don’t get it. You’re pathetic. You literally follow me. I couldn’t care one ounce about your life yet you follow all my posts.
I couldn't figure out what the screen shot was for, but he's proving that he toggles the ignore and unignore options for me constantly. It's very smart
Boomer? I’m 41. You are the one who follows me. I couldn’t care less about your life and ignore you. Are you that out of touch?
You just clicked unignore again. You have to actively take extra steps to read my posts. A step you take seemingly every time i post in the same thread as you. It seems like you do care, boomer.
I would contribute to a gofundme of any ringer staffer who shit all over a failed Boston team enough to get fired from the ringer. Edit: just imagine Chris Ryan on the re-re-re-heated bagging on losing to the Yankees in the wild card. I am, in fact, drinking on a Tuesday.
Pretending that the Red Sox don’t get slob knobbed more than almost any franchise in sports is just a stupid take
Your team never winning in your lifetime > all the Boston sports success in Bill’s life and still carrying THAT much of an inferiority complex
Every time I think Bill can't have less self awareness, he finds a new level. He was given the biggest ESPN platform for over a decade to talk shit about any and every Boston rival with authority, including spending 2 years on the ESPN pregame show for the NBA during the LeBron era when they had a "rivalry" with the Celtics. I don't know how any of you guys listen to anything he does anymore.
i feel like half of the sunday night games involve the red sox or the yankees, or both, so i'm not sure what his point was there re: espn favoritism
The Big Picture is so often such high-brow snobbery bullshit* but i love when Sean gets down and dirty with his love of Venom in particular. He and Van (and the other midnight boy guy, not sure who it was) are so good together. *also probably my most consistent listen on the ringer network
