Meltzer thought that MJF was referring to Darby Allin’s high school wrestling career when he called him a “school shooter.” What a fascinating weirdo that guy is.
wish I was going tonight, but I got too much stuff going on. came really close to pulling the trigger on a couple of tickets this morning in a moment of weakness.
Gonna be a great show. Even match looks like a banger and I'm excited to see who the Joker will be in the ladder match. Put me down for a second women's title being announced, whether it's called the TBS Title or something else, I dunno
They barely feature the women on roster with the one title they have. Having a second is just as bad as WWE with its womens tag belts.
Yeah, why the fuck would they add a second women's title to a division with one star and a bunch of afterthoughts.
They have a huge roster. A second show that likely will expand to two hours would be the guess. Those talents are largely afterthoughts because they are presented as such and not given time to establish themselves on the limited TV time AEW currently has. Maybe when Rampage goes to 2 hours that is improved and the title not used a gimmick for shitty storyline telling and booking like WWE often does.
ok I’m going tonight. comped tickets courtesy of none other that Tony Schiavone. hopefully good seats.
Again there's 3-4 hours of wrestling on Dark/Elevation each week and additional hours through the vlogs. People are getting over without network TV time. Sammy Guevara is TNT champ because of the vlog. Dark Order became a thing/still exists because of their bits on BTE. Fuego del Sol gets some of the biggest pops right now. A lot of "afterthoughts" are gaining large online audiences. I think AEW realizes how much consumption is changing and is building as much, if not more of their product for the unplugged generation than what it airs on TNT. Guessing they add women's tag belts soon. They've been really building up pairings on Dark for the last several months and seems logical that's next.
No one knows if his wife has had their baby yet. If she has, the odds are great. If she hasn't the odds are zero.
Yeah it's something this new generation is allowed to do that WWE is still very out of touch regarding. You can say "I shouldn't have to watch a YouTube vlog to appreciate this character" but welcome to the modern era you old fart. Right now there's only three hours of network TV time available. They rotate stars in and out on the regular, and in the meantime they encourage talent to express themselves on social media/YT. They do, and it works.
Only the most hardcore fan is going to follow any of that shit online. The general public isn’t tuning into those media’s to follow the product. I consider myself on the more die hard side of the wrestling fandom and I don’t tune into any of that shit. Not for AEW and not for WWE. If it crossed my timeline cool if not it’s the time and effort to track it down. If you and AEW think that method is actually getting people over that’s fine. I disagree and clearly the fact I don’t ever tune into those programs but do tune in weekly for the TV stuff shows you that there is still a huge segment that gets lost in the sauce.
I also don’t think Page returns until the show in Virginia after Full Gear. Maybe he returns at Full Gear, but his return being at home would be a huge event.
A lot of the Dark Sides are pretty depressing and sad. I haven’t tuned into any of them this season because of that. I think the Owen one broke me a bit.
Can’t believe dark side showed the footage of Hayabusa breaking his neck? So fucking awful. Hayabusa was the fucking man
One thing I don’t think gets discussed enough is most of the AEW crowds are good about booing heels, even if they like the workers. That has killed WWE, but it’s WWE’s own fault.
It's fun but this is a lot, we just going to ignore all tag rules? No one being pinned is legal, no one has left ring for like 10 minutes for elite. Ref can't decide if he's counting them or not...a lot of talented guys but that's not really all for me
