Just because that shirt is "free" [with registration fee] doesn't make it sweet. Unless you like wearing shirts with 20 sponsors like you're in F1 but your sponsors are local essential oils sales reps and real estate agents and chickfila
I've saved every t shirt I earned from skiing the Bjornloppet in the '80s and early '90s, so I kinda understand
So apparently there’s a threshold of how many kids get sick in a class before it’s shut down in Rankin County Mississippi. A positive kid came to school Friday. 6 others tested positive Monday. Only when the 14 (out of 21) kids showed up on Tuesday did they follow up and shut down the class yesterday evening. Kind hopeful that my son is one that didn’t as I have a ten month old at home and worry about her more than anyone.
Apologies if this has already been asked, but for those of you who have been boosted, do you all have medical conditions that qualify for it? Or did you just say fuck it and go get it? I have some travel coming up and it would be nice to get Pfizer #3 if I can. If I eat a big lunch I may cross the threshold into obese, so that could be a plan.
Also "former smoker " will qualify. And i guess say that since your job makes you see a ton of people in person (you're travelling)
When I talked to the nurse, she said they were instructed not to "police" or try and determine who should be eligible for the booster. The patient needed to request it and simply sign the form stating they believed they were a high risk and qualify for the booster. So I think if you go through CVS/Walmart/Walgreens, etc, that they can facilitate you getting the booster fairly quickly. On a related note, I was a bit tired last night but I attributed that to being up since 5 with my son, other than that I haven't had really any side effects from shot #3.
Booster / first NHS shot scheduled Saturday. I get a 2nd booster in December since the NHS won't recognize my American shots
I’m sure Charlton Hestons skull and the rest of the anti-vax crew are so popular with the kids these days

Let's go, fucking pump those kids full of vaccines. If it's clear that it's going to take several months more for kids younger than 5 then I'm probably going to seriously consider getting my 4 year old (almost 4 and a half year old) the shot.
Gonna be dragging my oldest to the shot as soon as CDC/FDA approves it. Will get them out of daycare to get it.
On a positive note, every time I have been to a CVS lately there has been a line of 5-10 people getting vaccinated. And it is covid, the flu shot does not wait in that line.
For those of you who have tested positive or had kids/close family who have...how long do you test positive for or what's normal? 2 y/o has a bit of a lingering cough but hasn't had a fever in over 2 full days. He's also playing and being himself still so I want to say he's mostly recovered but he tested positive again today. But im not sure if thats normal? Technically he has a doctors note to go back to daycare starting today since its 10 days from symptom onset. But not sure what to do if he tests positive still and if he could still infect other kids/teachers at this point. Also my wife did go get the antibody treatment. Said that no one was there and not enough people are taking advantage of it - especially considering it's Florida and there are definitely enough cases around for people to possibly benefit from it. But 24 hours after that, taste and smell went away. For vaxxed folks, does that subside quickly typically? Other than that, she feels mostly fine at this point other than a light cough every now and then. But not bad. Hoping that's the worst of it but the taste/smell thing sucks.
My workplace just mandated the vaccine except WFH. Kinda upset, wanted to see what my supervisor did. Found out my wife’s boss used pregnancy as an exemption for the vaccine. I think they are hoping she just doesn’t come back after pregnancy.
Pretty sure the CDC recommends you don't retest until after 90 days since you've recovered. Quarantining kids 10-14 days after exposure should be more than enough for them to no longer be contagious. Testing positive doesn't mean you're contagious, you can still have enough dead viral particles in your nasal pathway that it will show up on a rapid/PCR test but they almost certainly aren't capable of infecting anyone else.
I agree. Her boss had one of the techs convinced not to get the shot (tech is pregnant with a lot of issues) luckily my wife was able to get her to get the shot
We told my MIL today via facetime that good news is, from all sounds of it, Levi will most likely be getting vaccinated Nov-Dec so that means she could start visiting him again at the beginning of the year. Her head almost exploded. Happy Birthday MIL 1. She said that we should not do that as there are tons of issues popping up with vaccinations in children. Our response was “we are in agreement with our pediatrician and GP’s. The benefits far out-weight the risks so unless she, or anyone else, can present us with actual evidence to the contrary the plan is for him to get vaccinated.” 2. She said that she is still not going to get it because she trusts the body and immune system god gave her and it is working fine. My response was “we never asked you to get it, only told you the precautions we are taking for Levi. But if you could answer me this, it would go a long way in helping me understand why some people are not getting vaccinated. Why do you have all the other vaccines and why have you had so many knee surgeries? Was your body that god gave you not good enough then but there is certain scriptures that allow for those medical interventions but not this particular vaccine?” Phone call abruptly ended with a not so pleasant goodbye.
My mother has asked me the other day on the phone if we were going to wait to get our children vaccinated. I told her "hell no, first moment its authorized, I am getting them injected." She responds with "I just saw on Facebook....", I cut her off and said 1) Get the fuck off Facebook and 2) You're telling me about 1 kid meanwhile I can show you 57,000 kids who have been hospitalized from getting COVID. She then went "We dont know the long term side effects of the vaccines?" I responded "Yes we do because its out of the body in a matter of weeks. We dont know the long term effects of getting COVID for kids. I've never been more embarrassed to her child.
No, we have said all along that our timeline was him getting vaccinated. But we also said, we will continue to monitor the situation. So if things start heading in the other direction again via a different variant or whatever, we reserve the right to change our criteria.
Not sure if talked about already, but I guess Live Nation made proof of vaccination or negative Covid test mandatory for entry to concerts starting this past Monday. I'm enjoying all the people who are "cancelling" their concert tickets. Cancel culture run amok!
I dunno. According to the comment sections, us vaccinated folk are putting the unvaccinated at greater risk for contracting the delta variant. I guess the unvaccinated get to die heroes while we get to live long enough to become the villains.
Guess we're at the "he's not actually a dumb fat load! Hes a buff patriot!" stage of the conservative hype meme machine
