Dude came into clinic today, tossed a bunch of chairs around in the waiting room in a fit of rage about wearing a mask. Then accused us of malpractice for calling the cops. Attorneys lined up around the block to take this guys' case, I'd guess
as someone who works in a hospital emergency department you best believe we would be glad to send all these unvaccinated dipshits home. ideally they would skip us altogether and just stay there instead of even coming in to take up our beds.
Yea we’ve had to pull back on Inpatient surgeries because of these assholes taking up a bed. Really trying to start a grassroots internal effort to deny them beds
Couple articles came out this week confirming that North Carolina is denying unemployment claims for people who got fired or quit due to vaccine mandates. Pretty awesome even if it’s because we deny the most unemployment claims of any state in the union. Bit of a long con fucked around and found out for the republicans who raped our social safety net programs.
Nothing officially has been said with regard to vaccine mandates and unemployment, but pretty sure it's just about a lock in Virginia that if you lose your job in any capacity over the vaccine mandates that you won't be getting unemployment since the law states "You will be disqualified if the deputy determines that you quit your job without good cause, or you were fired from your job for misconduct in connection with your work." Another place states that "you have to be out of work through no fault of your own." So obviously if you're fired over not getting a vaccine, it's your fault. If you quit over legal terms of employment that you refuse to abide by, it's also your fault. But if you quit over good cause, you may be able to collect benefits, don't think quitting over terms of employment is considered good cause though.
Somebody in my office just got caught lying about their vaccine status. They’re giving them until next Friday to produce their vaccination card, which they will then verify. The employee is currently suspended without pay. I’m hoping they get the vaccine this week so they can show the vaccine card to the company next week, but then get fired anyways for lying about it for the last few months. That’d be one hell of a win-win.
Did they not check vax cards initially? We gave out our $200 bonus only when we either got a picture of the card or saw it in person.
No we had to fill out a form online attesting everything we said was truthful and would result in termination without severance if caught lying. My company has been pushing for vaccinations but unwilling to mandate due to the industry we are in (until our work with the government took care of this for them). The employee in question was never required to even get a vax when they started the lie, but it just made it so they didn’t have to wear a mask in the office. The dumb part is that this employee works out in the field 95% of the time and no one’s required to be in the office at all until 2022.
This may be a dumbass question… I know people have their vax status connected to their phones or something right? I am an incredibly disorganized person and now that CA is mandating proof of vax to attend certain events I’m getting anxiety over misplacing my card.
I made an album called “vaxxed” on my iPhone and uploaded a pic of my card there. That way I don’t have to scroll back weeks or months to find it.
in NYS you can quickly go online and get an Excelsior Passport. It loads into it's own wallet app. https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/excelsior-pass-and-excelsior-pass-plus
NDJOECA go to here and input your information it will give you your Covid vaccine proof. Then all you need to do is take a screenshot https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/
The way I figure out who in the obituaries died from COVID is by scanning the thumbnail photos for people who look like me. EDIT: Especially the ones who look like me +50 lbs.
It’s in the spirit of the thread title. https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/10/us/california-man-dies-drives-sidewalk-beaten-pedestrian/index.html
