I think it will be either a 1st this year or next + one of the young Dmen + the wildcard is who the extra prospect is
I think neither impressed. I think I value Mitchell over beaudin but they are close enough that I’m not going to weep if one goes over the other
yea agree, me trying to spin is - Boquist never going to physically be top pairing (still though, a skilled D compared to some other prospects in pipeline) - Jones was legit, idk what the fuck happened to him. So perhaps an aberration. Jones can be your top D guy. - Plenty of cap space coming free so committing to a physical freak isnt gong to hamstring you. (But man, fuck that AAV...the term does not bother me but I wanted something with an 8).
Since it doesn't go into effect until next year there is still hope that they have space for goalie. Otherwise that pick is top 15
I've been a big Boqvist fan but he's just never going to be what I envisioned. The team was pretty frustrated with him not really working hard off ice, being out of shape and not really improving his game. But fuck... That's a ton and the avv... just fuck
Agreed. I’m really concerned with the way Stan will handle it now, and I’m all but certain he mishandled it then.
I looked at the draft board quickly and thought Chicago picked Mailloux. Was about to throw my phone out the window
I mean duh, have you ever seen a pear play hockey? Hjalmarsson was criminally underrated. What a career he had
Just wanted to say it’s crazy people talking about what Bovqist will or won’t be when he’s 20. The only question mark about him is can he hold up with the concussion issues. As far as Jones, he has to be a top 10 Norris guy for 5-6 of the next 9 years for this to be worth it. He finished top 10 in the Norris twice in his first 8
Nervous to see what Stan gave Jake McCabe. Guy probably wont be ready until after Xmas due to blowing out his knee.
I wonder if they have any trades lined up today to move out money. I think they have around 5 mil in space with Shaw on the LTIR but Stan notoriously hasn't used that in the off season.
I don't think he magically got bad at age 25. This isn't like giving Brent Seabrook the contract they did at age 32. He's going to be overpaid but I still think he'll be a solid player.
Bowman turned prime Brandon Saad into Anisamov, then Panarin into Saad, then Saad into Zadorov, then Zadorov into a 3rd round pick. Thats just good asset management.
4yrs 4AAV for Mccabe and he will be worthless the first year of the contract and have to hope his knee gets back to normal thereafter. tons of cap space and wasted it
I just saw a russian win gold after a 3 month rehab to a torn achilles tendon. I will believe he can be back from a ACL
If you watched last night and the take away is Seth Jones sucks… I really question what you watched. McCabe couldn’t stay on his skates, DeHaan was garbage and Murphy had multiple awful moments. Jones may have not been amazing but he’s way down on the list of concerns.
