Fox News can be just as bad on the other side, but the spin these networks use to fit there agenda or narrative is nauseating. It is incredible hard for them to admit when they are wrong. That is why I give Gupta a lot of credit, going on Joe's show is not easy for some, as it is out of their normal element. Gupta admitted the next day on CNN he had never had a 3 hour uninterrupted conversation ever and it takes a bit of stamina to do so. Joe does 4, 3 hour podcast a week, he is much more conditioned to have these long form conversations. The hire ups at CNN were probably losing their mind listening to Gupta on Joe's podcast. It warms my heart to know these over paid execs were squirming in their pants knowing their top doctor corspondent admitted they fucked up.
I mean I would guess that Fox News viewers eat up hyperbole as it applies to their underlying beliefs while people that watch MSNBC and CNN expect more accuracy and good faith arguments but I have no data to back up this hunch
I just think the middle guy gets lost in both of these networks and get frustrated with their political push instead of honest journalism. Breaking Points for me with Saagar and Krystal is a great alternative. Not that I agree with everything they bring up, but they definitely call out the hypocrisy on all mainstream networks, which we need more of imo.
problem with alternative news like Breaking Points is they don’t get the same scrutiny like they give the big networks
I like breaking points a lot but sometimes it can feel like an overdose of cynicism for a more brief, bland update I like real clear politics takeaway. I’m pretty sure there are dozens of us out there that listen to it lol.
I can agree with that. No outlet is perfect, but it is nice to have other options to choose from outside of the big 3 cable networks.
CNN is worst than Fox News You should follow real clear politics or breaking points tHe MiDdLe aInT AlLoWeD hErE pArTnEr
I hate this meme, but Tell me you're a fascist sympathizer without telling me you're a fascist sympathizer. FNC is straight up far right propaganda. The fact that you'd even consider making this false equivalence reveals far more about you than you realize
CNN is basically a corporatist news network that largely reports the facts from that perspective. That graphic does not say what you think it does
I've never said anything positive about FN, you must be referring to someone else. All I have said is FN leans right, CNN leans left.
These fucking rubes are so deep in the fascism sauce that they don't even understand what left means. They have no idea how ridiculous they sound to anyone with any sense of the actual spectrum of political ideas. It would be funny if there weren't so goddamn many of them
You're just posting examples of how liberals prefer neutralish fact reporting while conservatives prefer to hear their biases confirmed
These conversations are generally more complex than to what extent news sources lean one way or another. Like what is reported on on each network and the perspective from which it is covered and who talks about it is all very nuanced and doesn't fit easily into a political spectrum. CNN I'd say is fairly middle if I'm being generous. Some consider it to lean liberal, I consider it to lean conservative. Regardless, it largely reports on important facts from the perspective of its journalists/reporters/analysts. Which is again somewhere in the realm of slight liberal to slight conservative. Fox News Channel is not remotely the same thing. It is a Republican partisan news network. It's goal is framing narratives in ways that benefit the Republican party. It is not even attempting to do the same thing that CNN is
I think Fox News channel as a whole can move from corporate right to far right. Their opinion shows are mostly far right/populist right while their more news segments are corporate right mixed with some far right fear tactics. I believe you could selectively watch Fox News and not be a total lunatic, but how many people actually do that?
Insert "Top Spinning" gif again. I can't wait to hear Chris Cuomo's neutralish non biased opinion on his brother's sexual harassment scandal.
My guy Rick Santorum is on CNN idk what you're talking about. What changed in the last ten years is the Republican Party flew off the authoritarian fascism cliff and CNN still reports on it as if it a legitimate political party worth engaging. If anything, that fact has dragged it to the right
Let’s look at the Rupert Mudoch world. He owns Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Post. if you just read the WSJ, yes you would be corporate stooge, but your world view would be more aligned with most people. The more NYP you add into your reading, the more crazy views you will have. Fox News is just a mixture of WSJ and NYP, with NYP having the stronger genetics between the two.
I would be curious to see the numbers for his individual episodes. Are they equal across the board? Do his right wing guests get more views? Do his left wing guests get less? But also his left guests seem more antagonist towards the left so that might throw off his numbers as right wingers love to beat off to left wing people attacking the left.
