What I see that's wrong The Chiefs need a chain mover that can work the around 10 yard range well. Teams are daring the Chiefs to beat cloud coverage and right now they can't reliability. Pat needs to be willing to work the intermediate passing. He just looks uninterested in it. Timing routes, crisp routes ran, hands on the fucking ball catching it clean. Need CEH to regain his form and blocking concepts need to make sense. Fire Spagnuolo. Release Hitchens and Clark. Let HB walk. Get a paycut from CJ and trade him if he refuses. Bolton and Gay outside and draft a new starter at MLB. I think this can be fixed to respectable in a year.
Hard to be even average on defense when you get absolutely zero pass rush. This team desperately needs an end who can get to the QB. That would help fix a lot of the issues. Frank Clark is completely worthless at this point.
I think the idea would be to scrape up some funds to land a top pass rusher in FA to make that happen. They have about 30m to work with next year after the expected Hitchens and Clark cuts and Brown tag. Going to need more with 30 pending FA's.

Day after take: I think they could rebound quickly if they can find a single ounce of pass-rush from somewhere. Trade, FA, somewhere. Being the second highest blitzing team but dead last for rushing is killing everything. On a positive note: Nick Bolton is damn good.
Yeah I don't think he was ever known for having wheels. It's why he slipped to the 3rd round. Asking him to cover for Pat drifting 10 plus yards behind the scrimmage is a disaster. Someone needs to tell Pat to trust his IOL (#1 ranked Center in the NFL) and drive the ball from the pocket. If he feels he has to sandlot run around every pass, it sounds like a receiver problem.

I think this is part of Mahomes problem. First three years tackles were pretty stout and he escaped back or outside. This year his tackles are ten yards behind the line of scrimmage and he has to climb the pocket, something I don't know if he's done before.
