I have heard Phenix City is lovely. Perhaps there are some hanging gardens or ancient ruins in Opelika.
I backed out last minute thankfully of going to the Ole Miss game - but the airbnb I posted earlier in this thread is apparently legit.
Lol. I wonder if this is OM being asleep at the wheel or a higher up (including Lane) just finding it hilarious to have him there.
my memory of going to auburn for a road trip is a bit hazy but pretty sure we parked our rv in a pasture so think this checks out
The Hotel at Auburn University on S. College will be closest. Anything on S. College will be close enough to walk. Let me know when you start looking. The Collegiate is also in the middle of everything but is small.
Featured our druggie QB, our druggie RB, our DUI manslaughter FB, our TE who turned into a HOF OT in the NFL, our WR who played many years as a safety, and of course the hefty lefty for Kentucky.
Auburn people are weird about it, but there is a unique market there for student-focused trailer parks. https://collegemhpark.com/ https://ridgewoodvillage-auburn.com/ https://conwayacres.com/ https://www.barronsmhp.com/ https://gentillypark.com/about-us/ https://stonegateofauburn.com/
I'd never live in one and was honestly shocked to learn there were so many of them. Like 90% of student housing is terrible, these aren't *that* terrible in the grand scheme of things. But still weird as fuck.
Yeah, I don't really know why there are so many in Auburn. It's a quirk of the city that a lot of people like to pretend like doesn't exist. But, they aren't going anywhere, because they've been there forever and the people who own them make a ton of money from them.
Seems like 95% of the ppl that lived in one was b/c it was either cheap housing for 4 years that they could resell for the same price, wanted a dog, or were the weird married couples in college.
It's taken a couple of leaps but I'm already dreading the Mullen rehab tour as Saban's OC for 2 years.
The Auburn/Opelika area has become a much better city/place to live than Tuscaloosa over the past several years.
I think that's completely subjective. Both have grown considerably in recent years, but it's primarily been poorly-constructed multifamily housing and retail in both cases. Auburn/Opelika's biggest settling point is not being Montgomery.
PFF has, in the past few years, claimed that Pete Golding is fielding above average defenses. That's when I knew it was bullshit.
Was pissed when stadium graphic was posted that he had 323 yards which was a new SEC record (breaking Mordica’s record at Vandy in ‘78) so we pulled him. Was only credited for 321 which tied the record. Felix Jones had like 166 yards in that game too.
