around the 1 hour and 21 minute mark, bill starts trying to convince himself that the pats will beat Chargers. he also listed the chargers wins, as if they were unimpressive. They’ve beaten WFT, Cleveland, KC, LV. pretty impressive if you ask me
The second one is a shitty take but I think Mobley would go first too in a re-draft. I don’t know how even the Cavs are going to fuck him up.
I heard it but it still seems unbelievable Bill said an all star with a few prime years left would attach himself to a rookie and the other clown compared Mobley to Hakeem. Through 5 games.
he also suggests that Lillard is the right piece for the KAT + Ant Edwards core and so presumably Portland should trade Dame in the division for a package involving D'Angelo Russell
just love that the WORLD SERIES is underway and the "Sports" Guy would rather lead off his pod with a discussion on whether the Cavs might go .500 this season! Hot topics!
Mind you, today he also said there’s no path for Philly to trade for Dame. Ah yes, DLo, the man nobody wants, is more attractive than whatever Simmons ++++ is.
He gets so weirdly hung up on his terrible takes, regardless of what the outcome is. Doesn’t think Lamar is a winning QB Thinks Rodgers is wildly overrated (though this may just be a leftover from the Brady vs Rodgers debates in the mid 2000s) Doesn’t think Lebron makes teammates better
So what's Ryen's deal with Gruden? I feel like I've been listening for awhile and I don't remember him "never" liking Gruden or whatever he said
i mean that's cool but have they beat the Jets twice and the Texans in come-from-behind fashion? check mate
BS: "We've had trouble with the $200 thousand dollar bet so I'm going to up it a tiny bit." PS: "We're going to bet more?!" BS: "$200... Or do you want to bet less?" PS: "I think less would be the guidance I would give but, again, I'm kind of conservative. You live on the wild side." BS: "You're kind of Rabbi Schrager sometimes with this stuff" wtf?
I see we are already at the point in the season where he's contemplating just betting even more mythical money on double digit favorites on the moneyline
Great fucking get. To sidebar for a second. In this interview with Wes Studi or the accompanying video, Wes talks about how he got cast in Heat. https://www.gq.com/story/wes-studi-tommy-orange-profile Spoiler: Wes learned that Mann was directing a movie with Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro, so Wes called up Mann because they worked together on Last of the Mohicans, and Wes was like, "Hey, Michael, I hear you are doing a movie starring Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro and me." Also Wes Studi fucking rules. In the interview Wes talks about how members of the different Native American tribes he portrayed would come up to him and say something along the lines of, "Boy, you speak shit Pawnee, but I fucking love that you gave it a go."
Tf a wild Bill Simmons appears. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZM8HMEfX4/ Edit: oh that makes sense/feels weird now. Didn’t notice it was his daughter, and certainly didn’t need this behind the curtains of the Simmons family.
pass, I don't need any more Heat discussion in my life. It's a great movie but Bill and Chris overrate the fuck out of it
nah, I get that it's their podcast but they say that every 15 or so episodes they do one for "them" and that's simply not the case Heat (third time) Halloween Cobra Departed (second time) Trainspotting Dirty Work (hall pass because of Norm reasons) Warrior Miami Vice (Tv episode) Hardball Rain Man Argo have all been for them, last one they did for us was Superbad
It’s a really good movie. Very long though so it’s definitely one ive only seen start to finish like twice but probably caught a few scenes half a dozen times.
Very long movie I don’t rewatch should weigh pretty heavily in the debate of: is this movie Rewatchable
I think it has plenty of great scenes though where you would stop and watch for 15-20 minutes a time. I think that plays into what I consider a Rewatcheable. Same with most Tarantino movies for me. Wife and I had to split up Django the last two nights as it was almost three hours long.
its a cookie cutter crime story that gets inflated due to the cast. Bank shoot-out scene is top notch though. Movie could've been trimmed by using visual exposition instead of all the verbal exposition
