Sent the wife & kid of to church so I can do some manly shit around the house while drinking beer. Last gate to hang in my side yard smoking area. Next is pouring concrete for my alley gate trash can area. Just expanding the footprint if existing concrete already there to better prevent runoff-washout. And lastly, setting posts to fence in area behind my shed that has redneck pool equipment.
Is there a post laying out the optimal Sonos multi-room sound system setup? Some kind of full scale setup in the living room Most likely just 1 speaker (no idea which one of them) in the master bedroom, back porch and garage (half will be a home gym)
Just got this and a Stihl weed eater. Not sure weed eater model because I was just trusting the salesman and didn’t have one in mind
Was scheduled for outdoor work today but was pleasantly surprised to wake up hungover and see pouring rain. Building a desk and bed in the indoors while drinking and watching football it is. Real shame
When I first bought my house (moved in Sept 1) I feel like all I did every weekend was projects/drink/watch football for months. If memory serves correct it rained most weekends, but I was also drunk a lot so it probably only actually rained one or two weekends.
I love it, very easy to set up. Use it a couple months out of the year, drain it, clean it and deflate it and store it until next time. It gets up to around 104 and will hold the temp around 100 for 30-60min with it running and the cover off. also think my wife bought it off Walmart last Black Friday for like 149$
My dickhead dog Scout tryna take credit for my handy-work. Actually he is a great dog and it is staying. It is in the corner and adds character.
Couldn't find the woodworking thread but maybe someone here could help. Doing more of the fence with hog wire and looking to try a dado cut into 2x4s that would serve as the top and bottom frame of the hogwire. Would be doing the dado cut on my table saw. 8' 2x4s. The videos I've seen on it don't ever show dados as rip cuts though. Any thoughts?
Thats exactly what I did with my front yard hog panel and I used Redwood for the top and bottom. You are fine to rip it with a dado blade. Just make sure you at the width of the thickest part of the panel and go deep enough into the 2x4 to have some meat against that panel. I would also recommend drilling some holes to let water drain out, something I didnt do but the redwood has held up nice for 6+ years.
Living room: https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/surround-set-arc-sub-one Kitchen, bedroom, and garage single speaker: either https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/five or https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/one There are a few options for the porch, depending on whether it’ll have cover or not. This would be a good portable one to take in/out: https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/move
Closing on a house today. Having hardwoods installed in the bedrooms and then will have the common areas sanded and re-stained so everything matches. Also need to paint a bit and are having some HVAC ductwork replaced. I hope we can be in and settled the first week of December.
Really can't catch a break in my new house projects. Was trying to put recessed lights in a converted sunroom and went to cut my first hole with my drywall rotary saw. It's cutting but taking a little effort, then I start smelling burning and seeing smoke, a good amount of smoke. Turns out there is plywood above the drywall so for about 15 minutes I'm just watching this smoke and freaking out a bit cause I'm sure there's about to be a fire. Fortunately no fire, I decide to try another project that should be easy and quick, to install my Wyse smart thermostat. Wire everything up and nothing, a little research and I didn't have a C wire on my old thermostat. I guess the thermostat comes with an adapter thing but I threw that away a long time ago cause I didn't need it at my old house. There is an unused C port on my control board in the unit so just going to crimp on a terminal to one of the unused wires, throw that on the control board and I guess that'll work.
I tried to do that at my new place because I had 3-4 ecobee room sensors from my last house. Popped it off to see that it's this weird wireless thermostat that uses a control box in the attic, so there are absolutely no wires going to the wall. I don't think they make it anymore, so replacement is going to be fun. People do the weirdest shit sometimes.
My wife ran into our gate and broke the hydraulic arm clean off of its bracket. Now I have to find someone who can weld it back on so I don't have to buy a new unit. Pretty great.
Started packing today for my move on Saturday. There’s still some small stuff that the contractor is finishing up this week, but after four months of repairs and remodeling, it’s almost done (excluding cabinets which are months out).
Pipes were rattling a bit, so I got my plumber friend over. He thought it was a bad regulator that needed replacing. Turns out we didn't have a regulator at all. No wonder my water pressure was awesome and the pipes were rattling. Weird though because it hadn't been an issue in 5+ years until recently.
This happened at my old house, for years incredible water pressure and no problems. Then one morning turned the shower on and it sounded like my damn pipes were going to bust through the walls. Got a regulator and man did I miss that sweet high water pressure.
My furnace seems to be blowing and I can see the pilot light come on but it will cut off after ~3 minutes. Any ideas? I’m still in the 1 year window of our Home Warranty BS but the company they’re sending out has atrocious reviews on this stuff. Would it be better to go with a company I trust?
Probably a flame sensor problem. Your pilot lights and then your furnace runs a check that it sees a flame before completely firing up your furnace to prevent from just blowing gas into your blower. I'd start by cleaning your fire eye.
Most of them aren't bad, and your furnace has safety measures in place that prevent you from turning it into something dangerous.
Have a similar issue now and they said the problem is the limit switch, which they’ll be fixing tomorrow. Part wasn’t in today
Well maybe I spoke too soon. After cleaning the sensor it ran well for 10-15 minutes but cut off again. Could it just be a fault sensor at that point?
I learned a few things today from the repair man. the blower motor has 3 speed settings, heat was set to medium which had burned out. The repair guy moved it to low and it has been working great since.
move in on Wednesday. Took little one over for her first visit to the backyard. She’s a fan (once she figures out what to do )
Lol reminds me of my dog, she doesn’t have a fucking clue, watches our male non stop. Love her though, she means well.
We got ours mid quarantine and then she has had no backyard to speak of on top of that. She will run all over this yard, but we’re definitely going to do some solid training bc she’s absolutely clueless at moment
