Joanna Robinson coming to the Ringer is a pretty big get. She was probably the best at Thrones coverage back in the day and has always done my favorite TV recap pods. She's really smart and a decent replacement for Jason.
gotta love MVP discussion 10 games into a season! "I feel like the Pacers could've stole the series against the Heat in 2014 with a healthy Granger!" Danny Granger was on the Clippers for the 2014 playoffs and was out of the league 1 year later but go off Bill, anything to discredit LeBron
Depending on how cringe the episode sounds, you guys dumping on Bill sounding dumb makes me more likely (or unlikely) to listen to a pod than the actual promotions for it.
Million dollar picks another dud this week Pats 400K hit Falcons/Bucs parlay 400K loss Broncos 400K loss ("One of my locks of the season!") Vikings 200K hit Raiders 200K looking like an L Falcons/Raiders parlay 33K loss Falcons/Vikings/Raiders parlay 10K loss "Lets go!"
I’ll usually listen to Bill until Peter comes on or him And Sal actually start guessing lines. Horrid content
same reason he had the "genius" Warren Sharp on so he could pepper him with 15 leading questions all designed to get him to say the Pats are better than the Bills
I'm only halfway through the segment but I've enjoyed listening to danny kelly and schrags. it's basically a rookie update/draft stories segment. simmons looping in mac jones for most of the picks and dumb and unnecessary and predictable, obviously. I'm tuning him out but I'm pretty sure he unironically said that jones looks just like brady.
Simmons has always behaved as if he can manufacture consent in sports and thus cause teams to win or lose based on narrative alone. It is very odd.
anyone watching Jagged? sort of curious if it's any good. i thought woodstock 99 was just okay but alanis' start of her career is more intriguing to me as a topic
He is such a doofus and only Bill would think he’s a great hire (bc Bills m.o. is thinking any hire from a name brand outlet is a big hire)
Idk how else to describe this in vague terms so hopefully this does it justice. My impression of most Bill sports convos. Bill: So <insert fringe or hyperbolic take he believes> Guest that knows marginally more: Reality completely disputes that. Bill: Urr,well uh yeah, I mean… Example from today re MVP Bill: So Josh Allen has to be completely out. Sal: He’s got the second best odds Bill: Well yeah I mean in my mind.
Props to bill doing a 2021 redraftables in week 11 just so he and two of his nfl stooges can talk about Mac at every pick.
Bill asking every pick why the team didn’t draft Mac? Hm wonder why Bill didn’t move at all to draft QB1 of the future. Probably Bc everyone thinks he has a low(er) ceiling. *skipped ahead to get to this and the 9ers picked turned into talking all about how good Mac is lmao.
dumb comment, yeah, but josh allen's odds make no sense both he and buffalo have been disappointing. the odds are high so maybe they an easy schedule in or something, idk.
Titus and Tate are literally calling the St. Johns game on FS2. looks like they made the right move going to Fox
Still much better than the dickless Adam Silver, wonder if he’s still “pitching a no hitter” according to Bill
I’m gonna go ahead and say the coverup of concussion data is far and away the worst thing those pricks have done. Which is also what I point to as the time I started caring less about the sport, in general.
the toradol thing is underrated but i doubt it will go away because of how many games would be missed. iirc marcellus wiley ended up with kidney failure because of it
I'm not sure what changed exactly but haralabob doesn't seem as cool as he used to Maybe a combo of reading his tweets over the past few years and sports gambling not really being novel anymore
Bob and Klosterman are two locks for my Simmons podcast Mt Rushmore. I was pumped to see he was back on.
