If jimbob does leave for lsu, he may bow out a week early to avoid the major awkwardness of having played his new team the day before

I think Mel has done a fantastic job but they really should have a few more losses. They were outplayed in a games they won. He is a good coach but these contracts are getting nutty. I’m also a fan of a broke acc school so maybe I’m bitter.
I don't think Jimbo Fisher is off the board at all. Fwiw, Brittany Ensimger (Steve Ensimger's daughter) made it sound like the hire has already happened when talking to TBob.
I would also put Cristobel and Brian Kelly on notice as well. The names that I know that are out are: Campbell Napier Kiffin Tucker
Trust me I don't want Jimbo Fisher here any more than you do. But we both know who we are dealing with when it comes to Woody. He's going to reset the market as far as ridiculous college coach salaries go. That's just what he does.

That's not Woody's style when hiring an HC (I realize he took Petersen from Boise). If you were hiring the next up-and-comer from the Saban tree, it would have been Mel Tucker. I don't feel comfortable handing the keys over to a guy whose biggest win is against Iowa State during a covid year. I think he's going to get a P5 in the next two yrs (UF makes a lot of sense). But it's not going to be LSU.

FWIW we have a guy on our board that is friends with kiffin and his former BIL who said kiffin interviewed with both LSU and Penn state “unofficially” in the last 2 weeks guess he fired Sexton as his agent at some point but rehired him over the summer. Which is peak Sexton if his one client is interviewing for a job currently held by his other client
