Felt like RJ played almost the whole game tonight. Always takes some time for the college box scores to get updated with MP but I’ll be very interested to see how that landed tonight and if that’s the plan for him going forward.

this poor defense, just pray we get a few turnovers, I'll take some fg's too

 

I think the biggest surprise all season to me defensively is how little pressure the DL seems to get on pass plays.

 

I'm always jealous of all these defenses that are able to get guys downhill and actually making tackles in the backfield, that's 100% a whiff or Pickett slides out if it's one of our guys

 

I can't wait to fire Searels, gonna do it myself it'll be a blast

 

the only reason you call that run there is if you intend to go for it on 4th, which we obviously weren't with that field position

I wonder what our percentages are on throws like that this year as it feels like the vast majority of them have been overthrown, stark contrast from the last two years

 

they tried everything they could to give us that and we just continued to trip over our own dicks

gut punch from the sucker'n aside, everything for the newly lowered bar is still in play

 

so we're on pace to set single season program records for penalty yardage, number of penalties, and sacks allowed, all of which massively contributed to the slow start last night as well as blowing an incredible chance to win in regulation

 

I mean there are obvious positives we can take from last night, like our much maligned defense playing a fantastic second half against the highest scoring offense in the country, and Antoine's continued emergence as the season progresses, but fundamental breakdowns like the above just make it nearly impossible for any kind of consistency and they aren't issues fixed by recruiting alone

To be really honest I don’t know. Roy was so consistent with offense and defense systems that a fan could get a good feel for it and what was/wasn’t working.

I think we are going to be a high variance team this year.

 

seems like the offense was on point at least

 

just watched the condensed version of the game, hopefully this was a wakeup call for how much better we need to be limiting penetration
