Better than getting on site, setting up your tents, and hearing on the radio the festival was canceled which happened at the last Phish festival. Total fucking gut punch that was.
Sincerely bummed for you guys. Only reason I wasn't going to go is due to a friend's wedding in Nashville Saturday night. You're all welcome to come to it instead.
I'm devastated. I really am. Hasn't sank in yet. I told Tex that the levy will break eventually. I got myself in shape for this fest. I just got out of a bad marriage and was ready to enjoy it all.
I can't remember if it was the 1st or 2nd one that flooded pretty good but it was insane. They didn't have enough porta potties so there was a piss and shit river running through the middle of everything. They also ran completely out of ice. Still had a blast though. We had to drive my buddy's Jeep through the damn woods to get out of campsite it was so muddy. Gonna be the old man that calls this the pussification of America. Probably smart to cancel though and my daughter isn't going now so I will sleep good this weekend. Sorry guys who got cancelled on I would be very pissed. Hopefully you guys get an epic festival next year.
Ts and Ps for any dumb drunk clemson hick that talks shit to me in Charlotte. unknown world of frustration is going to ruin their bloodline.
The headliners all have announced shows overseas around June next year so we will probably have a whole new lineup.
For everyone in the area and disappointed in the news, give Big Ears a chance in Knoxville next March. It was started by Roo founder Ashley Capps. Lineup is coming out soon. It’s not the same vibe as Roo but a lot of people’s only chances to see some rarely touring artists, jazz ensembles and full orchestras. I’ve went to four of them and had a great time expanding my musical palate. https://bigearsfestival.org/lineup-archive/
King Gizz and Primus both released tour dates. Both available the 3rd weekend of June. I’m starting to think Roo moved back to those dates so they wouldn’t conflict with the overseas big fests. Maybe they are trying to finalize the lineup now.
Daddy Rabbit how reliable do you think this is? https://www.nashville.com/event/bonnaroo-music-festival-tickets-manchester-tennessee/
Ehh, I don't, but I don't know much about that site. I also believe those dates are the favorite and thought so before September's cancellation. So a blind squirrel busts a nut every now and then type situation with them.
I see Governors Ball is happening the second weekend of June. It makes too much sense to have Roo on the third weekend now. It gives acts time to get back from Primavera Sound as well.
I saw the lineup for Shaky Knees in Atlanta -- wasn't as attracted by the undercard, but the headliners had me seriously thinking about it
That whole lineup is great. My Roo crew is seriously thinking about going. Weird it's the same time as 420.
Just got news yesterday the person that runs our show, the boss I work for vending, had her annual colonoscopy done the other day, and they had to take her in for an emergency surgery. Colon cancer. She had one done last year with no signs. Her mother passed away from it.
Last time I went (2016) was VIP. Was planning on going 2020 with GA RV. If I ever go back it will have to be one of those because I'm an old now. 2016 was the year it was like barely 60k there and I got super cheap VIP tickets. Not sure I'd say it's worth full price, but I've also been lucky enough the other times I've been to Roo I never had a long walk to centeroo, which is always my main concern along with super long wait to get into campgrounds, two things you won't worry about with VIP. The centeroo entrance is pretty nice. Regardless of where you're camped in VIP you're no more than 5 minutes away from centeroo, and they did not check our bags like they do GA so we brought in tons of beer and booze. The showers and AC bathrooms are a big plus, and they have a cool little VIP party on Thursday with really good beer. I got drunk as shit last time and was pretty hungover most of Friday because of that. The VIP viewing section at What stage is pretty cool because it's on a hill but pretty far back. If it's an act you're really into you might want to be closer. The VIP section at Which kinda sucks. No VIP viewing at any tents, at least not when I've ever been. Also you can't enter the campgrounds until Thursday morning - this may have changed though.
I really like being on the Hill for the headliners. I love being able to look at the crowd when it's packed and everyone and everything is lit the fuck up. The tower, the arch, the stage, the people. It's awesome. The AC trailered bathrooms are nice to have no doubt about that.
Depends on the lineup and cost for a 4 day VIP. We did Saturday VIP in 2019 because Hozier, Odesza, and Post Malone closed out the main stage. Impossible to try and leave What Stage VIP and make it to Which Stage VIP between sets. We did Voodoo Fest VIP in 2018 and they had better perks and VIP viewing areas. Overall I was not impressed with Bonnaroo VIP and probably won’t purchase single day VIP unless the lineup is perfect.
