I can say in NC we hate gambling and probably never will, it took decades of legal work to finally have another NA tribe approved for the second casino statewide ...
I just stopped caring about what the odds are when I lose a bad one. I get people when I’m nearly dead preflop too. You can’t be precious about any single tourney. I only get mad when I do stupid shit like optimistic calls on turns when we are near the bubble and i go from a lock to finish in the money to having to scrape out a min cash. (Full disclosure: I swear at my screen all the time, but hey now the feelings of despair are quick, I used to let a bad beat stick around for hours).
They knew the deal when they entered and the potential was widely addressed/discussed when they announced a second “Main Event”.
Also Global Poker is as soft as party poker 2005 up to 100NL... and you can use a credit card to deposit! They do a sweeps contest model, you’re “buying” gold coins to play with, but they give you an equivalent amount of free “sweeps cash” which conveniently has a 1:1 dollar value. If you do decide to deposit there, start small, bc they’ll also email 1-2 attractive deposit bonuses right after you make an initial deposit... usually.
It's a terrible rule. Imagine being chipleader with 9 left and 1.5 mil up top and getting dq'ed and getting 90k because you got the rona. Shit i'd be sending covid riddled hookers to that guy's room if I was one of the other 8. 1. Finish it online 2. Delay it 3. Pay him out using ICM Any of the above options are better than what they somehow landed on. A DQ is just a crazy ruling and I'd be beyond furious and devastated if that happened to me.
My buddy who recently picked up poker did good in Vegas a month ago and just final tabled his first 2 tournaments here in Florida. 4th in a $210+40 5th in a $350 up about 14k in 2 months of playing. He keeps asking me to get back into poker and it's making it difficult to turn it down.
Michigan is going live with online poker in the next month. I played a lot before Black Friday so it'll be interesting to see how the games are with limited player pools.
PA typically can have 2000 players at any time. Definitely get a bunch of casual players that are loose but if you look at the tables there is a significant number of volume players. I play too much on my phone and it’s reached a point where it’s almost worthless to play at the levels I have.
:D I haven't played poker since March like the day before they shut down the California casinos. I do miss it but now they only have 2 rooms open here and the wait list is like 50 people for 6 tables, of which maybe 3 are games I'd actually enjoy playing. I'm guessing all the sharks are putting in 20 hour sessions at those tables right now as well, so it's gonna be a while before I play again.
Played live for the 1st time last week since February. I made $150 on actual 1/2 then $400 on high hands cause there was only 2 tables 5 handed running
Question for the PA PokerStars guys....does the site offer multi table S&Gs? Michigan debuted a few weeks ago and they don’t offer them yet.
Sounds like ACR The amount of hot and freezing cold runs you have that Russian fucking site are just impressive
i've played it before and it's insane. he's probably a top100 PLO player in the US and he just plays with degens
This was a crazy hand. Guy kept me up to 4 am just dumping money like crazy. $200 Max buy in. Preflop: I raise to $5, he reraised every hand to $15. I raise to $45. He calls. Flop hits 9 high and he jams all in. I didn’t even hesitate and insta call for $700. He was sucking out so bad to everyone else. Spoiler: Aces
Feel like he said that 2-3 MEs ago. Any pro is a degen, hard to imagine how impossible it would be for him to give it up.
Friend, Chase Bianchi, made the final table of the main. He’s a stand up dude and very good, root for him.
Haven’t played in years. I assume due to technology and easy access to information, pretty much everyone you come up against online is playing with a HUD and are generally good at determining EV in most situations. Or am I way off base? Wouldn’t mind killing some time at the tables again, but it’d suck to feel like you’re just coin flipping against tables full of people playing well. If I am wrong, any recs for sites/huds/training resources to kick off the rust?
From passively following it online, seems like a lot of sites are dealing with people using cpu programs that work as live solvers and tell you what to optimally do. Iirc the top rated guy in the world was even banned from one of the sites bc he was accused of it. Found an article about it https://www.cardschat.com/news/alex...-one-ranked-ali-imsirovic-of-cheating-109523/
