Didn’t mean anything where I’m from, but it definitely does here in Jax. The Van Zant House is a historical landmark, and you can AirBnb it. There’s also a Van Zant park in the area. Oddly enough, I googled “Jax Van Zant house” to find the address and there’s a high school football player named “Jax Van Zandt.”
No joke. Seemed to be no rhyme or reason to who survived. Some of the survivors were sitting right next to people who died. Felt bad for Steve Gaines, one cause he just joined the band, and two because him and his sister were 2 of the 5 killed
Yeah the siblings dying was rough. If Van Zandt had survived and anyone else hit him died they likely keep going.
They did keep going. Wiki says 9 more albums and a shitload more tours after the plane crash. But yeah I get what you're saying
DON’T LOOK UP tells the story of two low-level astronomers who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth. Written and Directed by Adam McKay.
S3 one of the favorite things I watched in a while. Already posted once so I don’t want to spam but I think it’s that fucking good. Maybe not a deviation from the norm for most but legit makes me want to rewatch all the other seasons.
yes, the first one if I remember correctly Edit- Now I remember correctly, he is the main dea character in the first one and what happens to him sets the table for a lot of stuff that happens later. The dynamics of this story(not just the show but in real life) are fascinating.
Kind of lucked into a really cool opportunity and went and saw Chris Rock do his first set preparing new material for a Netflix special last night. Was a “is this real life moment” to see Chris Rock in a small club that’s essentially the basement of a restaurant. I don’t know how to grade it because he was trying stuff and it’s freaking Chris Rock, you want it to be hilarious, but I’m telling you he killed it. So fucking funny. There’s a Kevin Hart punch line that about brought the place down.
Started Cowboy Bebop. Liking it so far. Anyone watched Hellbound? Looks pretty good and probably start it next
I've been enjoying Bebop a lot. It's causing some marital strife since my wife hates jazz in general and especially Tank! in particular
I've still got 3 episodes left but this has been my feeling as well, probably gonna dive back in next week
Liking Cowboy Bebop so far better than the cartoon. Netflix keeps suggesting hellbound so probably will watch it next
Two episodes down with True Story with Kevin Hart. I’m liking it so far, even though the reviews are meh.
First two episodes have some intense moments. Hart does a good job basically playing himself. I’m pleasantly surprised by it so far
Started Hellbound just to see what it was about since it best out Squid Games for most watched. It’s pretty good.
3 episodes into hellbound. Much better than expected. Looked cheesy as hell based on art and preview. Finished True Story. Meh, but watchable. Very predictable
Watched "Take Your Pills" last night -- 90 min doc about the rise of Adderall and stimulant use. Pretty good
Wife is really into Cowboy Bebop. It’s the corgi because it looks just like ours when she was younger.
14 Peaks was pretty awesome. I have not scanned the thread to see if mentioned yet but I would endorse it. About a mountaineer who attempts to climb all 14 8,000 peaks in 7 months. If you just like seeing some beautiful scenery just watch it for that but the story was very enjoyable too. Actual documentary using real footage and not a movie.
Fell asleep watching this last night. Not because it's bad, because I'm old. Have some work to do will finish today, fantastic so far.
Spoiler the rescue scenes were by far the most dramatic. The helicopter just carrying them through the mountain and dropping them off right after summitting. Insane
Did the same. It was great. I have no reference point because I’ve never done anything close to this but him knocking out the one in less than a day seems insane
Have you seen the other climbing docs? I’m the same way as you, no reference and I fucking hate heights. Absolutely love the mountain climbing shit though.
