Yea they went from fun bad to pitiful bad, and not Lions pitiful bad where it becomes fun to see how they can lose. And that type of bad isn't worth watching
Haliburton 1st half 11 pts 8 assists (4-5 shooting) +26 Hayes 1st half 0 pts 1 assists (0-4 shooting) -16 in 12 minutes At least Cade shooting 6 for 11
Edwards new article is literally titled “The Pistons are going through Puberty” which is terrible and also a line that Weaver probably gave him.
Lee needs to stay up and Joseph needs to be released. Cade is going to grow and learn a lot this year, hope he understands it will take a couple years for this team to really turn the corner.
Saddiq Bey last night tied with Donovan Mitchell for the 3rd fewest games to 200 made threes: 69 Duncan Robinson 82 Anthony Edwards 84 Bey, Mitchell
They cut out a kind of important part of that article in the tweet "A person close to the Sixers said the team would want a more high-profile player than Grant in exchange for Simmons. The source added that the team hasn’t spoken to the Pistons lately."
Grant, Olynyk and one of the cheap young guys (Livers/Garza/Lee) would match salaries. Getting that and a protected 1st wouldn't be a bad haul for Philly, all things considered.
I don’t think we can trade any first round picks until we satisfy the conditions of the trade with the Rockets.
Correct, which is why at this point it's not going to happen. If that's all Philly is asking for, Simmons would be on the court for another team right now. They're not doing that deal.
Of course that's not what Philly's asking for right now, Morey has backed himself into a corner and Olynk can't be traded yet anyways. But if it's true that they're having discussions, this is the only package that would make sense for the Pistons. Guessing Morey is asking for Grant + Bey and picks at the moment. There's always pick swaps and picks way down the road, so that won't ultimately be a hold up if they get close to a deal.
Stewart landed awkwardly and immediately went down. Down a while and went straight to locker room limping and needed help
Cade heats up in 1st and now he basically isn't touching ball on offense a lot of possessions in the 2nd...
From what I’ve seen this season, I feel like Grant kills the offense. Eventually I think Weaver is going to have to move the guy.
Grant has a lot of possessions where as soon as he gets it he knows he's shooting. Even if he can't drive it he will just pull up for a bad mid range shot. Bey can be like that too. Garza is also kind of a black hole on offense. So possessions where Killian or Joseph took ball up, there was a good shot Cade wasn't even getting a touch that possession
Cade plays so well end of games and they play through him. Wish they ran offense that way more during the game
Back to people talking about the unlikely Simmons trade, I read a good article that we cannot trade any 1st rd picks right now at all. "The NBA's Stepien Rule and Seven Year Rule mean currently, the Pistons: A) cannot trade a first-round pick in consecutive years, so with their 2022 pick protected 1-16, and with protections extending to 2027, the Pistons' 2023-2028 first-round picks are off limits until two years after the pick is conveyed to OKC; and B) they cannot trade picks more than seven years in advance, so they can't trade their 2029 pick until the 2022 draft."
To trade a 1st to Philly, we would have to make a trade to free up that pick (or Philly would have to send something to OKC in a 3-way that gets them that pick). You're allowed to change protections on picks as parts of trades. That's the only way it could happen.
