You had 375, if not more. Clipping that safety caused you to shift back, you can see the load shift. Great fucking job on the PR, man. Do 405 next.

Just go on tik tok and you can get plenty of anabolic recipes. They're just normal recipes but with protein powder but still.

    ANABOLIC MAC AND CHEESE
    ANABOLIC OVERNIGHT OATS
    ANABOLIC CHICKEN TENDIES

Good shit Hensleya, about where I'm at but probably have 50+ pounds on you. SSB taking some getting used to.

Officially joining the XL life, about to donate all my shemedium shirts as they just don't fit and larges aren't any better

Do still fit in medium shorts/track pants at least

I hit 170 lbs for the first time in my life earlier this week but evidently it was only because of a big meal because I’m back to 165 now lol. Would love to get to 170 and stay there. Not sure I’ll ever get past a medium haha.

The PR rush got me… for a long time I had accepted the fact that PR chasing was behind me… now I feel like I may be getting back on the PR chasin’ train.

Current cycle is heavy on overhead stability because that’s what is holding my snatches back right now. Hit a new PR at 170 this morning and had 175 but my left elbow got soft.

Should start falling a lot faster if I keep up this pull and OH squat work.

Hit my first 250 clean today as well.

Somewhat tangential, I’ll be interested to see how the lifters that did the Showdown and are doing Hybrid in Jan fair. That’s a quick turnaround without PEDs, much less with them. I’m hoping we don’t see many injuries.

realistically how many times can you peak like that in a year? i know it depends on so many factors, age, drugs, injuries, etc

Yea I mean super tough to nail down, but enhanced athletes like that, with keeping health and longevity in mind, like 2 maaaaaaaybe 3. Once you get past like 220 it’s real tough to do more than 2 a year. The sheer weight just takes its toll. Idk how Dan Bell peaked for so long. He just now had his first bench sessions since July. He needed a long time off

Typically you’re looking at time on=time off. So every prep is technically double the length. So a 12 week prep while “on” you’ll need 12 off. So that’s 24 weeks. 2 of those and that’s 11 months. Depending on bloodwork and how much you’re willing to risk you can push that a bit but there’s a cost. There’s always a cost.

same with general training. Gotta view what increased volume, intensity, and frequency costs and how to manage it all

seems insane how many shows some strongmen do

Maybe it’s set up in different windows, no idea. Would have to think organizers take it into consideration. The Stoltmans and Novikov seemed to do close to 10 this year though there were a few the Stoltmans clearly didn’t try at

Thoughts on the USAPL weight class changes? Seems like benefit at the edges of the weight classes.

With the equipment changes, I may need to check out one of those Pioneer belts…

I think those 2 are the better things to come from this. It was insanity that super heavies started at 264. You could weigh 275 and have to compete against a 420lb Ray Williams. Gives everyone more leg room.

I also hated the very clear cash grab that was approved vendors. Just meeting the specs is fine.

Kind of changes what I'm going to do for March. Now I just have to get to 220 pounds to drop a weight class instead of 205. Bonus for me!

Yea I think 198-220-242 is a way more natural set up for the general population of lifters.

    I’m sitting at 256 haha

Huberman Lab had Duncan French on to talk Nov 8th. really fun listen

Commisioner of Power doc about Terry Todd is up on youtube. really great, i had only heard the names Terry and Jan Todd and didn’t understand their impact on strength sports. get ready to cringe watching Larry Pacifico coaching young lifters.

    Congrats!!

Haven't posted in here for a minute. About end of last year, Worked up to 375 5x5 squat then had a brutal 2 week deployment and work load. Tweeked my quad coming back. :faceplam: being 40 sucks.

I've pretty much shifted to 5x10 lighter weights, lower rest periods, and then core/functional movements and a mini cardio session or barbell complex at the end. Trying to workout under an hour.

Hope to push back into heavier weights after Q1 next year.

    Dear diary

They answered this question on their YouTube I think. Their stuff is priced higher due to the insane amount of free content they put out. Rogue makes good equipment but they don’t really put out coaching, nutrition, programming, etc content.

Also of note regarding Elitefts, Williams Strength makes most of their racks and machines so there’s a premium associated with that so both companies can make a profit.

I try to throw them a bone on smaller items for this very reason. I think that is also why they push the bands so much, cause it's a smaller priced item that they can make a margin on.

I also love Dave Tate and thinks he’s an absolute gem of a human in the lifting world. You’ve got Matt Wenning who won’t answer a question unless you pay him and Dave is answering every single DM he gets on programming, technique critiques, etc.
