bigjrock dont miss bench week at REP if you still need one. https://repfitness.com/collections/black-friday/#5a57794a6600b
unsure if they’ll rotate the bench. It’s possible. I’ll see if I can find out. I just mean in general on the trap bar. I love them.
I’m not on the level of some of you kats. I lift just to stay in shape and keep it toight. So I don’t need much. Sorry for the rambling but I thought I needed to explain my question. I’m looking at getting the bowflex adjustable dumbbell or bar it’s simply a space saving thing. I was wondering if anyone had them and if they’re worth the money or if I’m better off just getting dumbbells. TIA
I have the bowflex adjustable because I needed them to complete my garage gym (covid made everything hard to find). They're not what I would have chosen but over a year in I'm pretty happy with the purchase. Topping out at 52.5lbs is not ideal but otherwise they get the job done and my wife really likes the 2.5 increments at the lower end
Actually getting better. In retrospect, I think the biggest issue may have been an imbalance. Over the years I had stopped working overhead altogether. After giving PT a try, I started putting more and more weight overhead. I haven't gone heavy in months (hypertrophy phase, hurricane completely killed my training, and now hypertrophy again) but I haven't felt nearly as much pain in my everyday life. Even through the football a bit with my kid and didn't scream like a little girl. Progress!
I hope that tonal thing works for people that buy it but digital weight is the future is pretty humorous

I’m just now stringing mostly pain free bench sessions together. I hit 275 for 5 on 3 count pause tonight @7. I think I’m good around 355-360 pealed rn. 12 more weeks to push towards 372+
i restarted my 5-3-1 plus program a few months ago and set my max lifts pretty light compared to where i left off. on my 5+ to start this block i squatted 315/8 and deadlifted 340/10. so cardio is going well at least. may take a bigger jump in 1rm on the next block, but heavy deadlifts just weren't there mentally when i got going again.
I look on Zillow for homes all the time (the market is brutal in NY) and my old lady keeps mocking me because having a gym space is like 3rd on my list of necessities. Enough rooms check Enough bathrooms check Gym space check Who cares....
Well...don't spend that affiliate commission just yet. Just got an email saying I won a Williams Strength adjustable bench from GGE. Now I have to see if I can cancel the Rep order.
my powerblocks came in. these are pretty sweet. need the extensions now my sister got me an early bday present this week and we went to a rage room. 20 minutes of swinging a sledgehammer and crowbar on an old volvo and my body is wrecked worse than the car.
I enter the gym knowing full well, at some point, at the peak of my caffeine high, I will have to take a colossal shit.
Just want that fight to be over with, all the back and forth is annoying. Thor looks insane First time lifting for me today in 15 days plus had a deload week before that. Bench felt awkward but went well. Time to build again.
Finally happened on Monday night; Failed a bench press rep in my home gym alone. I also learned the fun way that my plates have a little rust on them, just enough to prevent them sliding off the bar freely.
Basically. After realizing the plates weren’t gonna slide off I shimmied one end of the bar to the ground and was able to press the other half up enough for me to pull myself up into a seated position and roll it all onto the floor. The two minutes it took to figure that out and execute felt like an hour and I am sore today
my rebuilding program is almost up to me benching near my max. so i'm pretty sure i'll be posting about pinning myself soon.
20lb PR at 350 on front squat tonight. Unracked 365 and it rolled right onto my collarbone on the way down and I dropped it and didn’t feel like picking it back up for another attempt. Pretty good for being oly focused and not having really worked on improving front/back squat maxes for 10 weeks
It’s a huge conflict of interest. So WADA tests these athletes. Who pays WADA and who publishes these tests? WADA isn’t testing out of the goodness of their heart and love of the game. So you’ve got a compromised testing agency then you’ve got a corporation who has NO incentive to be honest about its PED usage since they’re not beholden to another entity like weightlifting/IWF is to the IOC. ALSO, there are PEDs that are undetectable. You can’t detect exogenous insulin use, the test used to detect GH has been put under scrutiny with multiple lawsuits. Plus how frequently are they testing out of competition? CrossFit will continue to say “look at these slightly above mid range people that popped! We’re testing!” but will always, always, always cover for their top athletes to keep the money coming in
For the record, I’m very-pro PED. I’d love to see a truly clean CrossFit and then a completely enhanced CrossFit
