its obviously still super early and i will be thrilled to be wrong, but he 100% should have been the hire over hubert
Dons are a smooth 7/15 from 3-pt range at half vs Morgan St Wash St and OG USF play basketball the way it's supposed to look. Tony Bennett ought to be ashamed of himself
FSU v Mizzou is great. The most sec school you could imagine versus a team that’s actually in the sec.
There are way too many college coaches out there making tons of money who don't understand that taking shots earlier in the shot clock generally leads to a higher effective FG% It's like the football coaches who punt in short yardage situations in plus territory You don't necessarily need to be on the bleeding edge of analytics but please at least embrace the basics Jeff Linder at WYO seems to be hardcore into a lot of the same stuff Golden and Kyle Smith are
I dunno if they can afford to fire a coach so soon after hiring them. They've had one of the smaller budgets in the MWC But you love to see it. Sucks a shitty dude like that gets a job at all but especially in a sweet city like Reno
Wyoming wins at Grand Canyon to knock Bryce Drew from the unbeaten ranks. I think they're still probably a year away from really competing in the MWC but Linder absolutely has them going the right direction
I'm terrified. His nails-on-a-chalkboard voice screaming "box-out!" as illinois shoots pointless free throws down 5 with 1 second left.
I’ll note that it is insane how good Keegan Murray has become, but they’ve played like a bottom 10 schedule so far.
I never understood the Hubert hire. Seemed like they were settling for their safety choice by hiring the guy that coaches the JV team.
i mean there are legit critiques but calling it a safety hire sure isnt one. there is nothing safe about hiring the least qualified candidate to one of, if not the, premier jobs in college basketball
I feel like Roy and Wes are really tight too, so that's odd. Do you think Roy wasn't sure if he was ready for the job? Roy seems like Miller's biggest supporter as well. Hell, even Hansbrough was courtside at a game last week.
any answer I give here would just be speculation, but I think it just boiled down to Roy having his reasons for wanting Hubert more so than not thinking Wes was ready, I also doubt any bridges have been burned there
Was unaware that ucla and Gonzaga play tonight. I figured they were just randomly playing central Michigan and Bellarmine. Didn’t know it was some sort of lob sided tourney in vegas
I meant safety hire as in he would 100% take the job. Kinda like applying for a safety school that you’re a shoe-in to get admitted to.
Gettin a belly full of beer and bbq rn and ready to call the hogs all night long baby been a minute since we’ve got to play you jerks
Google tells me 1997 was the last meeting and the last time we saw Musselman was in the '18 tourney when we blew a 22pt 2nd half lead to get to the sweet 16. see you tonight big boy
