We just did 4 weeks WFH when day care was shut down. 1 year old. Covid. Teething, two very heavy work schedules. Was a fucking disaster
The daycare covid shutdown was the worst month of my life. I had my one year old making guest appearances on video conference calls.
"WED I think we lost you" No. Sorry. My child shit himself 5 minutes into this leadership call and is now screaming I just can't talk right now
We pulled our kid out of daycare for over a year until we could get vaccinated. My mental health was severely tested. The idea truly seems impossible with a 2nd kid. It's honestly pretty terrifying having kids under 5
Turned in the post op sample today. Gotta say that I've never felt more like a texan than I did walking around with a container of my own juice
About halfway through the summer we decided we were hundred percent sure we wanted a third. pulled the goalkeeper in August and literally got pregnant the very first time. We are fertile as hell. Baby due in May and will have the vasectomy shortly after.
Relevant to my interests. Probably going for an initial consult soon as well. Wife is completely on board. We have a son (almost 3) and a 3 month old daughter. We're done for sure.
They showed me a quick video of the process, gave me a list of things to do/get in prep, answered questions, and then scheduled the execution
My main advice for those taking the plunge: call around and find a doctor that does the no-scalpel version. I had to search for one in dallas. It's supposed to have fewer potential complications and a little easier recovery than the traditional scalpel type.
Just got back from my consult. Doctor asked a few questions, explained the procedure and prep stuff like Ned mentioned, then played with my balls for a minute to see if he could find the tubes. Took like 30mins.
I was not expecting it. I thought the consult was over and he's like "Alright, drop your pants, let's check you out."
Not quite relevant but I got an ultrasound on my balls once cause I thought I felt a lump on one. Fun experience. Relevant I should probably start looking into a vasectomy but wife got an iud so not in a rush.
Got one of those once, that gel is really cold and a young female nurse walked in right in the middle of the whole thing
I was gonna get a vasectomy next year, but if they’re out here fondling balls I’m gonna see if I can squeeze in next week
the last person I knew that was firmly no kids ended up divorced and dating men, I’m not saying you’ll end up that way, but I am saying I support you if you do
Check the thread on experiences. Overwhelmingly easy recovery for most of us. Don’t spare the ice the first 24 hours, wear tight underroos, and take it easy for a few days. You’ll be right as rain.
It wasn't the most fun 20 minutes of my life, but it's really not a big deal at all. Nothing to be worried about
I can’t stress enough how much an actual jock strap vs like compression shorts or tightly whites helps prevent pain. Get one if you have a vasectomy coming up.
The only problem with the jock is that you often have a sideways muffin top situation with the old man balls. Still worth using though
Wasn’t all that bad, but the shots sucked. Stressed about it way more than I should have but very glad it’s done.
when you’re busting guilt free loads in a couple of months you’ll realize it’s the best thing you’ve ever done
That insane shot to the nuts caused the hot assistant to run in asking the dr if everything was okay.
why must we talk about this, we don't wanna know this lol - the longer i wait the more fuckin nervous i am
