I also don’t think Freeman is just here for one year in about a month I could be wrong on all this shit, but just my feeling that he planned to stay 2-3 years
He's at least won a conference championship. The Big 10 hands out generational wealth to coaches just for stumbling into one or two well-timed upsets.
OSU topping Alabama sneaky big. Will be tough to keep Alabama #3 if they lose to UGA, and tough to tell UGA their reward for an undefeated season is #4 Bama in the semis.
Yeah two teams above us are guaranteed to lose, and Bama being at 3 heading into championship weekend is big. Will be very interesting to see how it all plays out over the next couple weeks
Could they do something like give Freeman a contract with... ...for as long as he is DC, if Brian Kelly is replaced as hc it's either Freeman or a $5 million buyout. Probably need to combine it with a $2 million buyout for him being hired away if he decides to leave before. In this scenario he at least gets $5 million and an interview.
NDMBB beat Chaminade last night so they have Texas A&M tonight. Hopefully we have our shooting touch. The one thing I will say is that our defense looks leaps and bounds better than what we’ve had in years. That should serve them well as the season goes on.
What a cool retirement job: https://fightingillini.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/pat-ryan/1494 Metamora was really damn good under this guy- this is a sneaky way to keep pushing the envelope in recruiting. Fucking ND should go find 20 of these dudes around the country- give them $30K a year to be ND cheerleaders in their states.
Quote from the Athletic Article on Illinois recruiting " Who’s the best active player you’ve seen here? Coach 1: (Brother Rice quarterback) Jack Lausch is the best player I’ve seen Coach 2: The kid from Brother Rice, the quarterback, Jack Lausch, I’ve heard about him for the last three years. When I closed on my house, one of the attorneys, he found out I was a football coach and he knew this kid, this was a few years ago, he said, “Hey, this kid’s gonna win a state championship, he’s the real deal.” And he’s definitely backing that up. I’ve heard some unreal things about him. Coach 4: As a sophomore, I said Kaleb Brown’s the best player we’ll probably ever see, but I haven’t seen him live. He’s been hurt most of the year. So I think that’s No. 1. After that, I do love (James) Kreutz as a pure football player. It’s crazy he doesn’t have offers, but he’s probably the best guy I’ve seen. Lausch is a hell of a player. If he walks on at Notre Dame he’s just gonna make people miserable on the scout team, if he goes that route." Looks like we got our QB2! Kid plays just like Ian Book
Also a lot of love for the Kreutz kid Take him as a walk on- you know money doesn't matter to his family. Dad was a stud
his brother is on scholarship at Illinois as…………… a center unsurprisingly seems like this kid is also headed to the Illini
Probably the same as the 247 article. Says he’s locked in to ND but has two officials left so he’s going to USC and UCLA
so wanna realize a weird thing. There still isnt even a chrystal ball in for an OL in 2023, usually the position ND fills up hella early
ehh it’s usually an Indiana kid that jumps early, ND hasn’t offered any yet. They also look like they are taking ten OL guys in two years, so probably only taking 3 OL next year so gonna be picky
Spoiler: We should just consider him not committed CORONA, Calif. - CJ Williams remains happily committed to Notre Dame but the four-star receiver was at USC this past weekend and is still listening. The Trojans turned in a poor performance but as the USC coaching search finalizes, it’s expected Williams will meet with the new staff to see what’s going on. “I’m bringing my whole family, we’re going to have a good time,” Williams said Friday night after his Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei team beat Corona (Calif.) Centennial in the playoffs. “It’s a rivalry game and also for the recruitment aspect I would say I’m there for a little recruiting trying to see what’s going on. I want to see Jaxson (Dart) and he’s getting the start. “Donte (Williams) is definitely consistent in recruiting me and I would say the recruiting department is most likely to stay consistent and stay put. In a situation where there will be a lot of turnover I’m still hearing a lot from USC which is good. “I got on the phone with the athletic director the other day and he’s always going to be there. The relationship is still there.” Williams has been committed to the Irish since early August. That has not slipped. But the possibility of playing with Dart and a new coaching staff in place is something to at least consider. “The craziest thing for me is whether they get Graham Harrell or another offensive coordinator or they don’t, they still have to throw the football with Jaxson Dart,” Williams said. “You have the Gatorade Player of the Year at quarterback so I’m pretty sure they’re going to be slinging it for a while.” The four-star receiver will take an official visit to USC and could take one to UCLA as well. With all this being said, Williams said he remains committed to Notre Dame and is expected to see coach Brian Kelly within days when home visits start. “It doesn’t say I’m de-committing from Notre Dame or anything like that,” Williams said. “I’m going to do what’s best for me and my recruitment and my life. I’m still committed, I’m still Irish as of right now. “It’s been really consistent. Del Alexander does a really, really good job. I know coach Kelly is coming to the house after the Stanford game so it’s been good.”
