Today was huge day for the tank. We are two games up for 1st pick. Houston, Jets, and Jags are only other teams with 2 wins. And they all play each other. We can pretty much win two games, and finish no worse than pick 2.
They gotta go Thibodeaux or Hutchinson. I saw a mock that has a CB and a S going top 5. There is no way they do that again. Or maybe if they get 1, they see if the Jets want to trade up to get Thib.
Thibodaux is a freak but everytime I watch Oregon I don't notice as much as I'd expect from a #1 pick DE. Maybe I'm just watching at bad times
Do we think he spent more time deciding on whether to wear this helmet or more time at practice that day?
That's an amazing stat. I'll bet you couldn't find a high school QB that throws to the sticks less than Goff.
Except for that time he held and got called, didn't even hold well enough to prevent Quinn from a strip sack.
I’ve seen some bad Lions losses, but this is arguably the worst coached loss of all the games in recent memory.
Fords will never do it, but if he doesn’t win a game, you have to fire him. I mean he should be fired regardless.
This roster is absolutely atrocious and most coaches should get more than a year, so normally I'd say absolutely Campbell deserves a 2nd year....but man it's becoming more and more obvious he is over his head and this isn't going to work out. I think I'd cut bait after this year
Sam Howell is the perfect Lions QB. Throws for under 150 yards on 25+ attempts. His team is involved in epic late game collapses and in crunch time is throwing the ball shorter than needed making his last pass harder and its picked off. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming him for that loss, but that stat line and way game ended I had to think it's a match made in heaven...
I go back and forth on it. Hutchinson probably makes more sense if all things are equal, since he’s grown up in Michigan and knows what it’s like to be dead inside.
Honestly I've only watched a couple games of each and Aidan seems way more dominant. But I could have seen good games of his and bad ones of Kayvon. But the games I've seen, Kayvon doesn't dominate like you'd expect he should the way people talk him up
Hutchinson was in a bad scheme for DL under Brown, but he always showed potential. Macdonald made him the focus of his scheme and it totally changed his game. He’s been good to flat out dominant in every game this season. Thibodeaux is a freak though.
Is Thibodeaux a freak athlete or a freak football player? I mean again I could have just seen them play when he hasnt been at his greatest, but his stats don't scream elite edge rusher and he looks physically impressive but he hasn't dominated games the same way I've seen other DE dominate. I don't know I see the lock for #1 pick when I watch him like I've seen with other top DE picks in past. I don't see a Garrett or a Clowney level dominance
Both are elite prospects but if you see anyone saying KT is a liability against the run please ignore them. KT is tremendous all-around, his first step is wild, and he is great against the run.
KT is phenomenal against the run. Never takes a play off. Tremendous at creating pressures and hurries. Biggest weakness is finishing sacks. Like any Edge player, you can scheme against him by either running the opposite way or double/triple teaming. But when he’s 1 on 1 he’s insane. He’s missed four games this year, got his ankle rolled up on in the first half against Fresno in week 1, out the second half of that game and the next three games. Got a bogus targeting cal against against Stanford so missed the first half of the Cal game. He’s also got like 4 offsides penalties this year.
I'm enjoying the Rams getting the full Stafford experience. The idea that he was a victim of the Lions is hilarious. He regularly shit the bed for long periods as a Lion and cost us games.
The Lions are also 0-26-1 or something like that in their last 2 seasons without him on the roster and lost something like 10 or more in a row in games he didn't play while here, so im not sure you can really blame any of the Lions problems on him. But yea he's struggled lately in LA
There were a number of times pre-Patricia where the difference between a Lions victory and the inevitable defeat were Matthew's inability to hit the broadside of a barn for 2 quarters. He wasn't the only problem, but he also wasn't a that fucking awesome. His being better than people like David Blough doesn't move the needle for me. He's a streaky QB with a great arm, entirely capable of being bad for large stretches of a game.
He's easily the best qb the Lions have had in my lifetime and I wouldn't call it remotely close. This franchise is fucked up top to bottom and I never got people who blamed our problems on him. He isn't the top level of qb but we weren't going to get anyone better and I see us struggling at least a few years to even get another one at his level.
