I can't remember what year anybody is anymore between COVID and being old. What football players are we expecting to lose this offseason? If Josh Vann is one we have jack shit at receiver
From TBS - Below we have two lists of players who participated in Senior Day ceremonies. The first list is of players who can not return. The second is a list of players who have another year of eligibility, should they choose to return to the program. Scholarship players who do not have anymore eligibility DL Jabari Ellis DB Jaylan Foster QB Zeb Noland TE Nick Muse DB Carlins Platel LB Spencer Eason-Riddle LB Damani Staley DL Aaron Sterling PK Parker White Scholarship players who have an additional year or more of eligibility (but participated in Sr Day) DL Devontae Davis OL Eric Douglas DL Kingsley Enagbare DB R.J. Roderick WR Josh Vann RB ZaQuandre White
JJ isn't coming back. I doubt Vann or White would but you'd take both of them back in an instant. I'm ready to go ahead and say farewell to Davis, Douglas, and Roderick...you just tell them it's time to move along.
I think Brad Johnson and Sherrod Greene would also fall on the second list but they must've not taken part in Senior Day and plan to return.
Yea, that list (has one year of eligibility left, but can choose to stay or not) is: -Jordan Strachan -Jahkeem Green -EJ Jenkins -Jason Brown -Brad Johnson -Sherrod Greene -Chad Terrell -MJ Webb -Jalen Brooks -Rick Sandidge -Jazston Turnetine -Dylan Wonnum
Doesn’t feel like he nor Bell were given enough touches this year. I attribute that to our inability to throw the ball downfield consistently. I haven’t looked, but I’d be willing to bet that after Vann that our next leading receiver in receptions is White.
I haven't and won't be watching any replays from Saturday, and I had some beers. But the main play that will stand out in my mind is Jaheim Bell catching the ball, turning upfield, and getting knocked like 8 yards backwards
Are there any potential guys we can grab from the transfer portal that could come in and contribute instantly? We need some in the worst way.
WR is the standout, but after looking at who is leaving and knowing nothing about our recruiting, I don’t see anywhere that looks stacked except RB if Harris can look like his 2020 self again.
Jaheim Bell showed why he doesn't get more run on that interception deep in our own territory. It's why whenever there's two guys in the same space downfield for a pass he's usually one of the two there. Have a feeling Strachan tries to go pro but would love to have him back. Skill positions are a mess if Harris, White, and Vann all opt to leave. We should be okay at TE with Kenion and Bell at least. Let Terrell and Turnetine go from this list, ambivalent on Green since he still hasn't played any but was a late arrival to camp this fall and is the size we could use on the interior, I'd be down to keep the rest. Douglas and Turnetine have to go, they absolutely suck and were two of our biggest problems all year. They need to move Jakai Moore to guard to take advantage of his run block ability and cover up his pass pro issues, Gwyn and Wonnum are fine starters. Wannamaker and Nichols ain't it. We should be looking for a LT in the transfer portal to combine with Moore, Vinny Murphy, Gwyn, and Wonnum on the OL for next year. Vershon Lee the next man up if any of those 4 doesn't return. Feel pretty good about what we've got on D if most of the guys that are underclassmen that can leave choose to stay. Pickens, Cam Smith, Rush, etc. Should still have a really good DL group if we return Strachan, Pickens, Webb, and Burch along the front four and Huntley, and I think if Brad Johnson does choose to return they should move him back into a rush end type role, SAM/Buck type thing he was playing. Kaba should be an upgrade athletically from Staley and Johnson and now has a lot more reps under his belt. Between him and Greene that group should be much improved over what we got out of our backers this year. Solid group of corners returning if Smith, Rush, and Dial return and while we have to find something at safety with Foster moving on, I am confident Clayton White can make that work if he's back. I guess RJ Roderick coming back for one more year wouldn't be the worst thing because I'm not sure what you're gonna get out of Jaylin Dickerson (if he hasn't already medically retired), Jahmar Brown, or Tyrese Ross. Think Dominick Hill, Debo Williams, and Tonka all have a chance to have much larger roles next year based on their ST work. Darryle Ware isn't bad LB depth either.
i think im more inclined to blame our shitty offensive personnel than to blame satterfield but i am keeping an open mind, i could be convinced that they all suck
So are we going after Rattler? I’ve seen a few articles mentioning it and the obvious Beamer - Oklahoma connection in 2020. I’d take him in a heartbeat.
khafre brown or emery simmons. both just got lost in the shuffle at unc but are local and talented imo
If we don’t fire satterfield, I will likely not follow our football team next year.* *I will still follow them but be upset and/or ambivalent about it.
The only sport I’m not currently following under protest is WBB. Ray Tanner keeping Dawn in that job (of course it was Hyman who hired her) is basically the lone feather in his athletic directors cap.
I had class today. We did best and worst of the weekend. Surprisingly everyone's worst was the Clemson game. I told them look you little sumbitches, this was probably a good freshman season for you. We went 6-6 and lost to Clemson. (Then I built them up by saying they were first year just like our head coach and they were only gonna get better and so would he and senior year by God we'll all be in Atlanta )
AIOLICOCK you really let rittenhouse enjoy lunch down the street from you after spouting off about your pew pew toys all week
feel good believing the guy who stunk under a coach who made bums like hurts and baker look good will all of a sudden look good under a different coach
