So my daughter has been desperately interested in getting a VR headset for Christmas. I've been looking at the PS one and then I guess there's like the Oculus or whatever. I'm just really not sure what would be the best approach to the situation. I've avoided VR because I don't think the tech is there, nor is the gaming really, but I'm open to being wrong. Either way, it looks like it's happening for Christmas. Anyone here have a good understanding of where the tech is at and what direction would work best? The PlayStation one appears to have been for the PS4 and the PS5 version is still not released? Are there many games that an 8 year old would be interested in playing for the PS VR? The other option appears to be the Oculus, but would I need a pretty decent gaming PC to make that worth the money? I'm open to any and all information. If there's a better thread for me to post this, I can do that as well.
Oculus sounds like the go to I believe. Rockstar is even adding GTA San Andreas to VR, though I doubt that’s her kind of game
No thanks. I like to keep it old school and download .jpg files from Kazaa but make myself wait an hour before I look at them.
Do you still basically need a bot to get one? Even my wife wants one now so trying to hit all the drops we can
Nope. Just have to be on top of it and looking at Twitter feeds. I got two, one for a friend and one for a coworker
nah Target thing is done. You need to follow some of the restock twitter pages with notification on and as soon as they alert someone has a drop ie Amazon, Target, Gamestop etc..you log on and buy. Best to already have an account setup with every possible retailer and already have you address and pay info saved on those sites
Have no idea how to do any of that on Twitter. I’m most likely going to be forced to pay $800 for resale. I don’t know how that works on StockX but I assume if it’s broken or doesn’t work you’re just fucked
you need to have all of them. Walmart (but that req Walmart+), BB, Gamespot, Amazon, and if you have Costco that a plus bec they do drops from time to time. Just keep your phone with you and as soon as one of those twitter accounts alerts someone has a drop hurry and open the app and try and get it in your cart and process the payment.
its not hard just setup a dummy twitter account and follow one of these accounts with the notification bell turned on @PS5StockTracker, @PS5Restock_, @LordOfRestocks those are the 3 I've followed in the past to get a PS5
I've been playing Persona 5 Strikers and loving it. Has that hack and slash Dynasty Warriors type gameplay.
https://twitter.com/supplyninja?s=21 This guy has random employees from target messaging him pictures of shipments. Probably want to follow this guy as well
All in on this. I buy most new big games I want, so it not having Day 1 games is fine with me. Not having your major games being available for cheap day 1 is probably better for business long term anyways.
Really just give me KZ2 multi-player again, and announce a remake. Best multi-player shooter of all time for me, and it's not even close.
They’re explicitly not doing day 1 releases? Then it isn’t as good as Xbox GP. Plus I get a ton of PC games. I won’t get it if it’s more expensive than Xbox’s offering. Like, yesterday, I booted my day one Xbox one up and it was a black screen after launch rather than the home screen. Oh well, let me just turn on my pc and play all of the same games and more with zero issue.
If they add the old PS1 era JRPGs (suikoden 1&2, wild arms, legend of the dragoon, etc) I’ll suck my own dick and pay for the fuck you tier
It’s fantastic and creates big hype. Like Xbox releasing The Show on day one was just shocking. I don’t know how PS, coming out years after, without any better features… it’s just old ps exclusives that Xbox doesn’t have. I own both systems and I’m not fanboying either way but I’ve been using Xbox cloud streaming on my inferior MacBook since it came out more than my objectively stronger ps5.
Assuming a few people don’t have a gaming PC to switch between or both systems this is fantastic fucking news
That hype doesn't do anything from a business standpoint, though. Microsoft has fuck you money and are willing to take the hit. No other gaming company is going to be willing to just constantly throw money into making a service like that work.
Sony doesn’t need it to be as good as gamepass. God of War, Horizon, Bloodborne and GoT (games) sold PS5s. Throwing away that money to promote a service isn’t smart. They just need to offer something and adding a back catalogue of their games going way back is a nice touch
Getting ready to go live in a few, see if this PC has the balls to stream and play the game at the same time. Get in me, Internet frens....
KZ2 multiplayer was amazing. It was unlike anything else out there. Then they went chasing other games with KZ3 and ruined it.
Apparently people have just started playing it again over the last month or so. Not sure how they pulled it off. Seems like it has aged well, though. Hearing that headshot sound brings out some serious nostalgia.
KZ2 and MAG are the only online FPS I've played in the last 3 generations. That brings back some memories. Had a great player base of people who hated COD games, which was a lot. MAG was decent for a few months too.
I'd love another MAG, as well. Got tired of getting my shit pushed in by SVER, but I did have a lot of good memories with MAG. It's funny that DICE is having so much trouble implementing 128 player battles effectively, when MAG did it very well over 10 years ago. Difference is DICE discourages team play in 2042, so it makes 128 chaotic. There were so many different things you could go do or focus on in MAG that the player count never seemed too much.
Im posting this here also bec I know this thread gets more traction than the Xbox thread and one of you may know the answer
PS Now currently has Final Fantasy VII, VIII Remastered, IX, and X/X-2 Remaster for any PS/PS2 FF fans out there. It has never really seemed worth it to get PS Now, but those along with some other AAA titles, it seems more appealing. Hopefully the new tiers of PS+ that were announced will allow access to some of the older PS library rather than having to subscribe to 2 different “services”.
