My wife’s cousin died from SUDEP at age 26. Hadn’t had a seizure since he was a kid and wasn’t treating them anymore.
That freaks me out, I had seizures from 2 until I was 17. I’m 31 now and don’t take meds or anything for them.
There are few WRs I remember who seemed as dedicated to blocking as he was even though he was far too good to spend as much time blocking as he did.
That’s terrible, I had a seizure when I was 14 in the shower. I fortunately fell out and my face smashed through some drywall and that was it.
incredibly lucky there. Seizures scare the fuck out of me. I’ve never had one but I’ve had friends who had them and that shit is intense. I’m really glad that they’re learning a lot more about how to control them or lessen them.
Team Demaryius. There’s nothing better than physical football players and he was one of the better ones at that.
Wow damn that sucks. He will forever stick out for making the Steelers eat shit in that playoff game. RIP
This man made over $70M in a long and no doubt strenuous career, retired in June, and is dead by reportedly a freak accident months later. That is extremely unfair.
cliches become cliches for a reason. The truth of life being too fucking short and unfair is so true. You hear it and don’t understand how true it is. I once heard “don’t waste your energy on things and people that don’t deserve it” and live tried to live my life that way since.
Had my first grand mal seizure at 18. Also in the shower. Not a good place to fall and thrash. Fought the paramedics during my postictal confusion. Had a second seizure in my early 20s. Switched meds after that and haven't had one since. On meds for the rest of my life due to persistent abnormal brain activity.
Man this is really just awful news. His story is a great one, he was a remarkable person that overcame some really tough circumstances.
I only had a couple grand mals when I was having them. All in the hospital when they took me off meds for EEGs and were purposefully inducing seizures. Mine were all partial complex on the left side of my body. Fortunately I got brain surgery when I was 17 to try and stop them. Afterwards I went from having two a month while on meds to having one in 14 years without meds. What do you take currently: Keppra, Phenobarbital, Lamictal?
